Major Disappointment After COVID
I’ve had great treatment during COVID when the nurse practitioner’s were able to treat across state lines. Treatment then stopped after the expiration of COVID to treat across state lines because the nurse practitioner’s are not licensed in my state. I was advised by a nurse practitioner as long as they are licensed in New York, I can have a virtual appointment as long as I am in New York for the appointment while changing my pharmacy to a New York pharmacy. After two hours of waiting in the Port Authority, I was denied treatment because I was told it goes by state residency. If that were the case I would not have scheduled an appointment. False and confusing information by this group without a response from my nurse practitioner regarding what I was told and what had actually happened. Very disappointed.
Make sure you update your ID
I was really excited to find a telehealth platform after my previous provider stopped prescribing in my state. I made my appointment, put my CC info in, about two years worth of RX records and a few days logged into my appointment. I received a message that nobody was available and I responded that I had a scheduled appointment. The provider logged in, and I explained why I was there and she stated she could not help me because my driver license was not for the state I resided in and she needed to verify I was a "resident"of the state? I offered to provide a copy of my mortage, mail or anything else needed to show that I was a resident of the state but she said "telehealth laws prevent her", which is a total lie because all my provider are telehealth! I have never run into an issue having an out of state drivers license and I feel obviously if I have a mortgage or piece of mail that it shows I am in the state more than a driver license that anyone can get. I realize there may be rules, but I feel they should have outlined this on the website or somewhere in the policies versus wasting my time when I could have used the time finding a provider who didn't have these types of individual policies. I also stated I years of records I would happily provided to show that not only I was diagnosed with the symptoms but have been receiving treatment for well over a decade. I work for the federal government and move often and with COVID it was increasingly hard to change a drivers license which I don't feel should be the gatekeeper to access health. Obviously if my credit card has my state zip code, I am physically located in a state but I was also willing to show my mortgage statement as well. Being denied care simply over an out of state driver license, when everything else outlined my state was ridiculous. But for a provider to blame Telehealth laws and insult my intelligence I find to be a question of their ethics. I'd rather a provider just say they aren't comfortable than makeup a policy that does not exist. It is not uncommon for a person to have an out of state license and I could understand refusing treatment if the patient was not willing to provide some other forms of "proof". It's not as if I can use my current ID to see a provider from the state of my ID since I am physically not located in the state. My frustration is the fact that I could have been using the time to find a provider who could treat me and not wasting my time since it's now the weekend and I will have to wait another two plus days to be seen. . I usually don't like to post negative review but when my time is wasted for policies that only exist at the provider level but not annotated on the website or anywhere during the payment processing, I find it very unprofessional and unethical. I feel a home mortgage proves residency much more than a drivers license where anyone can obtain in less than an hour..
We are impressed
We have been so impressed and appreciative of the care we have received from NP Pascale Kidane at Virtual Psychiatric Care. She is very helpful and knowledgeable and caring.

Quick and painless
Quick, easy, readily available, and for an out of pocket expense - the price is reasonable. I love my psychiatrist too!
I feel like my psychiatrist isn't listening
I feel like my psychiatrist isn't listening to me at all. I frequently explain how I'm feeling in depth and she repeats it back to me and it isn't what I said at all. I feel like she's trying to speedrun our phone call so she can get it over with. I always feel worse after my visits but this is the only help I can afford.
Always a great experience.

Great Experience
I was attended to almost immediately and I was speaking to a true professional who has helped me work through some things. A follow up appointment was booked during the call for the following month.
Pleasantly Surprised
We were at a desperation point to get help for my teen. Therapists in our area are booked for months out and the few we had found just didn't click with my daughter. We learned about Virtual Psychiatric Care through a referral. I was skeptical at first, but I couldn't have been happier with the experience. Aline Paredes was fantastic. Better than any therapist we had been able to find near us. Definitely recommend.
The system was easy to navigate and…
The system was easy to navigate and staff were polite and helpful. They were able to explain options and made a plan to move forward. Way easier than waiting months for an appointment!
