Please do not buy this course

Please do not buy this course. It is badly written. Origym will present it to you that you can finish it within 6 weeks, that is impossible. you don’t have access to tutors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They take hours to reply to your questions and reply at ridiculous times. They give you feedback that doesn’t even make sense.

Don’t waste your money

Don’t waste your time! I work in the NHS so have a very good understanding of the body and how it works. Did this course teach me anything of value… NO! This course does not in any way help you to become a PT, it more of a check list and tick box kind of training. Death by PowerPoint comes to mind. I spent so much money on this course and wish I never bothered! So please take my advice save your money! Even my mother in law looked at half of the questions and as a nurse she though it all looked ridiculous

My assessment and assessor (Harry)

My assessment and assessor (Harry) was both fun to execute and helpful in its execution. The instructions were simple and straight and his feedback was helpful in improving my skill further. I will say, whoever has Harry as an assessor in the future will be lucky to know you’re in good hands

Currently on my way home after…

Currently on my way home after completing my level 3 PT course. I completed L2 gym instructor in the London venue two weeks ago. I want to say a huge thank you to my assessor. She was brilliant. She will know who she is, but I really hope she gets the recognition she deserves because she made the experience as stress free and pleasant as possible. While pushing my knowledge and putting my mental and physical capabilities to the test. My entire origym experience has been wonderful from beginning til now.

Origym - flawed

I signed up to Origym as there was an option of part time study and that Origym "provided the client" for the assessment. Although in reality this was another person doing the assessment that day so I felt a bit misled about this from the sales person. I also found the sales person very pushy about getting people sign up although other companies are the same in this respect. I did find the online training very dated with lots of text to read with an option for audio. I found that the access does not last after course is complete so I spent quite a while coping all the text over to MS Word. This was quite a slow process I did find that the training material did prepare me reasonably well for the two exams but I can't say the same thing for the assessment. The training exercise have really short videos using a computer character and the exercise points were very short. I attended a training session at Colchester but I found the venue not really that suitable as it had low ceiling, no floor space, unusual machines and very loud music. When it came to my assessment a week later I was first the client then immediately after that I was the instructor. I was marked down about lack of feedback to the client but I felt the course did not really give me enough knowledge on this point. What to say to someone if they are doing the exercise well? Also the loud music certainly did not help when I'm quietly spoken. I really did think to myself why I am doing this and do I really want to work in a gym? I found myself really under pressure and the assessor stopped me a few times over my lack of feedback. I would recommend that they expand on the assessment section like do a video on the correct way to show a client a lat pulldown + suitable feedback when client tries it out similar to the videos on the CV exercises. Also some of the questions on the training can be hard to get right when there a multiple false / true and only tells you if the full set is correct or not. Also would also to have the option of printed material if even I need to pay more. Also would like to have a better venue and thought the client would be another staff member.
