Ardkeen Quality Food Store is an independent food retailer based on the Dunmore Road in Waterford City on the South East coast of Ireland. We are locally owned and managed. The business was founded by Robert and Pamela Jephson in 1967 as a small grocery store with petrol pumps out the front, believe it or not this was quite a novel format back then! The business has grown in popularity and scale over the years notably a a major redevelopment of Ardkeen Shopping Centre took place in 1998. Ardkeen Quality Food Store has a developed a unique food offering. People want to know about and trust the people who produce their food so we specialise in sourcing the best fresh produce and local foods from artisan food producers that we know and trust. As an independent supermarket we have the flexibility to buy the produce our customers want. Using links developed over the years with really good food producers we now have a range of fine foods that surpasses all competition in terms of food quality and provenance. We also cook and bake an extensive range of products at Ardkeen. Prepared daily in our deli kitchen by our skilled and commited team of chefs, using only the best of ingredients. The food is prepared, cooked and chilled (if necessary) and on sale the same day, so you can have retaurant quality meal at home in minutes. The range is extensive everything from soups & starters to main courses like Elaines wonderful Fishermans Pie to Lisa's sumptuous patisserie treats. Although there have been many changes over the years our philosophy remains the same; to provide great value, better quality food and excellent customer service. We are delighted to be listed in the prestigious McKennas Ireland Guides, Georgina Campbells Ireland Guide and have being awarded many accolades including Retail Excellence Ireland Awards, Best In Fresh Awards across departments and most recent named Best Shop in Ireland by The Irish Times.
