Packing was terrible
Packing was terrible - no dry ice - just two pieces of bubble wrap where there may have been ice. entire order was received at a room temperature state. I sent a message to Lone Star Tamales - Never even got a response. I have ordered many times from this company and packaging was always great - but not this time. Sorry, you just didn't do your best job on this one...

Very tasty but a bit too hot regarding the cheesy tamales.

The apple tamales were pretty disgusting and we wound up throwing them all out after trying. The meat tamales were very good except I do not care for the texture of ground meat in a tamale as opposed to shredded. Sadly we will not be ordering any more

I sent Texas LoneStar Tamales to my Son…
I sent Texas LoneStar Tamales to my Son in Seattle, Washington who is somewhat of a gourmet eater and cook. He LOVED them and promised to buy more. He said he had never found a tamale that tasted as good before and he used to live in SanFrancisco.
Best service
I was foolish to do an order around the 4th of July holiday.(my fault) I didn’t need tamales for the holiday. They did contact me and pushed my order out a week because of the volume of orders. No problem!!! Thanks for dealing with it promptly and as always I’m now enjoying the best tamales!! And the best service!
Tasted great
Tasted great. That's all I cared about. I grew up in Fort Worth and moved to Maine in 2002 and there's a dearth of Mexican and Tex-Mex options up here, for sure.
Worth the wait!
I ordered the Big Tex Beef tamales as part of my order. It turned out they were on back order. So it took an about 2 or 3 weeks to get my order. Although I understood about the back order and patiently waited for my tamales to arrive. Man I got to say I was not disappointed! They are excellent tamales! Definitely worth the wait. Yeah they’re a bit pricey at $28.98 for a dozen tamales. But for our family that’s a little under $5 for 2 for each of us. My wife and daughter and myself. Then we have them with my wife’s yellow rice with vegetables in it and beans on the side. Bam! Perfect meal with Texas Lone Star Tamales being the star highlight of the meal! The tamales taste like they were just made fresh like everything else. They have a very good flavor. So when you think about it the price isn’t really so bad. At least for my family we’re getting 2 meals out of that $29.98 dozen. Now we’re at $15 for a meal for 3. You’d have to pay that much or more for one plate in a restaurant. I’d recommend Texas Lone Star Tamales to anyone and buy them again myself as well.
Replacement Order
I recently ordered tamales from Texas Lone Star tamales and for unknown reasons the order/delivery was delayed for a week. By the time they were delivered the box was hot and I declined the delivery. I notified customer service and not only did they place a replacement order but shipped the new order the same day. The tamales are delicious and this is my second time ordering from them. A little pricy but given I live in NC now and it is difficult to get good tamales here, it is worth the cost.
