I had been questioning my CV for a while and struggled with job applications, leading me to postpone the process for months. In my search for help, I found PurpleCV. While the pricing seemed a bit high for me, it was reasonable compared to other services. My initial interaction was via online chat with a lovely representative. I requested a call, which I was able to schedule for the same day. However, I did not receive a call at the scheduled time. After waiting for 10 minutes past the appointment, I called the number on the website. The representative apologized and assured me they would call ASAP, but hours passed with no follow-up. I called again due to the urgency of my situation, and the second representative I spoke to was quite rude and dismissive, telling me there was no one available and abruptly hanging up on me. This raised a red flag for me. I returned to the online chat and interacted with another patient and helpful representative who offered me the early package for £100, which was the same offer as before. I decided to proceed and paid for the service. The next day, I received an email from my assigned writer. After providing some information, I received a call informing me that, despite being new to the industry, I needed to upgrade to the specialist package costing £250, which I could not afford. I was on the verge of requesting a refund, but the representative was very understanding and managed to get approval from her manager to upgrade me for an additional £70, still a stretch for my budget. This package included a CV, LinkedIn profile, and cover letter, with a promised turnaround of six days. At this point, I spoke to another lovely lady on the phone because I hadn't received a confirmation email. It turned out I had mistakenly used another email address. She was very understanding and resolved the issue promptly. My writer, Shehzad, was lovely and delivered the work on time. However, I didn't feel entirely satisfied, not knowing exactly what I expected. I've watched many videos about CVs and am uncertain about what constitutes the best result. While I hope the new CV will help me secure a job soon, I feel the cover letter doesn't reflect me well, though I acknowledge the writer did a good job. Overall, my experience with PurpleCV was mixed. The customer service had both highs and lows, and while the final product was professionally done. Time will tell if it helps me in my job search.

Having paid for the service and then asked by them to pay for a more expensive package, the work was delayed for four days. When started, after negligible communication and then chasing them to reply, I was provided after 5 days a mediocre CV that was visually poor, missing key detail, and showed no significant improvement on what I provided. It lacked, entirely, the cover letter and LinkedIn review that I had paid for. I regret not checking the reviews more closely and would encourage to avoid. I am now chasing them for a refund. Updating as of 23rd May to acknowledge that I was contacted by PurpleCV who apologised and a refund has now been received.
