An honest opinion

I have been on the academy for about 2 months now. Here are a few lists of cons and what people should know about before really deciding if they are going to commit and pay thousands of dollars. I wish people who writes reviews here should be really honest about their experience so that the academy would try to fix what needs fixing and PLEASE DON'T make a good review just because of the MERCH giveaway. 1. FSNA program is not beginner friendly at all or 0 to engineer. A lot of the times, the instructor is babbling things you have no idea at all. You HAVE to LEARN the basics of packet tracer first before diving in. I wish they would just do that in the first module rather than the not course related on the first module. 2. A lot of the videos needs updating and it is as old as 5 years ago. Technology, specially in the networking side has evolved so much since. ITproTV , youtube and LinkedIn learning has more updated videos and it doesn't cost thousands of dollars. 3. No dedicated mentor or 1:1 mentor just for you. Basically, after you've done signing up. You're own your own. You'll have study group every week but that's basically it. You'll have someone that will check you every 30 days just asking where are you in the course and what not. 4. Security+ and CCNA certificate training course videos and some other videos have very awful audios, like cheaply recorded. Youtube FREE videos about this certificates training have way better audios. It is so disappointing and frustrating at the same time that you paid tens of thousands of dollars here and this is the type of recorded videos you deserve. 5. Not enough support. Basically, there is only one person dedicated to answer your questions about the curriculum. The discussion on every videos gets answered days later after you have moved on on that topic. And lastly, when they interview you before getting to the academy, they will promise you that if you finish the program within 6 months or less and you don't get a job after year, they will return your money back. Basically, a job guarantee but the contract says otherwise. Make sure you read the contract before signing it which of course, they all knew that we all don't do that and just believe what they says because we are so excited and trust them. And I might just add that the Comptia Sec+ certificate course is still running the 601 even after a week of it retiring. They said "Oh the exam is basically almost the same, it just have different percentage and comptia renamed the domains". Yeah sure! If that was the case, how come you just don't rename and update the course? The 701 came out last year of November and they knew that the old one is going to retire sooner or later. They had 8 MONTHS to update or prepare or record since comptia announced what is going to be the new objectives. But nope. Here I am, studying off of youtube for the exam even though I have a paid one. Edit: This is a reply to their reply. 1. I finish the FSNA as fast as I could because of the fact that I thought there is a money back guarantee. It is even stated in your website "Land a job within a year or get your money back" but the contract says that it is not. 2. You did not update the audio in those video I was complaining about. I reached out to a couple of people and including here to voice out the issue but you guys only updated the arrangement of the videos. Audios are still the same. Also not very in depth explanation of the topics for the security plus exam. You should update the practice questions as well. 3. 1:1 MENTORSHIP is entirely different from asking support when you have complain about the course details or about the platform itself. Did the 13 interactions included the call from the Admission team and Student Success team and the occasional chat to curriculum support? Yes I agree that every students have different unique experience but If you dare to stop the FREE MERCH giveaway raffle if they do the trustpilot review and send a screenshot of their review maybe the reviews here are going to be more constructive and maybe the review rating here won't be as high as it says here.

The quality of the training is outstanding!

Everything is formatted in such a way that it never really allows something to feel overwhelming, and you're always able to ask for help and it's practically immediate responses with helpful feedback and input. Highly recommend!

Helped me become a bug bounty hunter and learn both cybersecurity and networking. Started doing freelance work on the side too. The support of the community and great coursework for the programs has been very helpful.

NGT - Your Path to Brighter Future

Background: associate's in cybersecurity, like 5th college degree I got. Bio dad comes from background where college degree gets you a job. I had gotten advanced accounting degree on top of bachelor's, and 18 months later still no job offer. Returned to college, got 2-year in cybersecurity, again same idiotic story. I did every resume and CV tip, aced interviews, but nothing worked. Quite wrong, you know? So, looked at cyber/IT bootcamps. For a small fortune, they'll train you up. NGT stood out because: 1) No negative reviews. Anyone who works hard will pass program. The only ones who fail choose to quit. 2) Top-notch guidance. Jacob Hess, Robin, Britanny I've interacted with; you cannot ask for more enthusiastic and helpful folks. They explain program, route to various certs, every detail until no questions left. This is the golden standard of Customer Service. 3) All learning styles accommodated. Audio, need study group and lecture? Every cert has a weekly study group, lectures can be watched repeatedly. Kinesthetic? Subtitles and transcripts, and if got technical question, multiple people watching daily; answer is up within 10-18 hours, sometimes sooner. 4) Program manager will call monthly to ask how you're doing. At time of review, it's Robin, and she asks simply about your studying, any issues or questions. She will be on the phone with you for 3 hours, if necessary, to help get it all sorted out. Suspect she's paid extra to be your cheerleader too. 5) Career Center. Recruiters. It's an economic disaster with numerous ghost jobs and stringing along job seekers. NGT does not participate in this deception: you can bet the job posting is honest. They will work with you on resume, profile, details, everything no matter your experience level; many other reviewers have gotten into IT field through these beautiful folks' hard work. At present, just grabbed the FSNA certification, and shortly am beginning the Sec+ videos for next step towards cybersecurity career. Looking forward to it all. So, give NGT a fair chance. The arm and leg it costs is your commitment, and in return, they will do their utmost to setup the path to success, encouragement, everything you need to get started. Unlike college, which tossed me to wolves, and other bootcamps that hire no recruiters, NGT cares about verifying that you passed, got the certs, and got the dream job.

Best place to go from zero to Engineer

If you really want to know about Cyber security and networking. NGT Academy is the place to go. They stay with you from beginning to the end. I just completed my NCSA and I am happy I went through the program. Their staff are great and always happy to help even at short notices. I recommend NGT Academy anyday.

Fantastic start into basic networking

Fantastic start into basic networking, and a great start from which to jump into additional learning topics.
