I highly recommend skills certified. I obtained a cert III in automotive. I had been in the automotive trade for 15+ years however I never went through the formal apprenticeship process. I found them always great to deal with throughout the process and they also had allot of patience for me along the way (I tend to put things off and the 6mnths sneak up pretty quickly, I made the deadline, just... I picked a rather busy time to take on extra commitments 😫) There was a substantial amount of evidence and proof of experience required however for someone full time in a trade it is achievable to get everything together from accounting records and documenting, videoing and photographing work etc. Anyone who is in the same position as I was with a lifetime of experience and never formally qualified I would highly recommend giving skills certified a call.
