Poor communication, but result achieved

We had a very frustrating experience we almost lead to the loss of the property, until brought to attention of HLD, which they were subcontracted from. first 3 months were based by very generic and non clear response (only once every thursdaY). Final report was very clear and final result was eventually achieved but it happened after many many calls, 90% were not concluding and with not accomplished promise to come back back with the requested info. Some typo in the paperwork and checks done on the very last minute. Experience in general has been quite stressful, thought there has been a happy ending

We can't recommend Katie and the team higher. This was our first house purchase, so we really didn't know what we were doing, but the team at Montrose made everything as easy as it could be - responding quickly to requests & questions and helping us to understand exactly what was happening. We always felt reassured that things were going well thanks to the superb support of Montrose, and we'd definitely recommend them to other people looking for a speedy, smooth and professional experience.

Please don't use this organisation!

This is the worst customer experience I have had in 20 years – poor communication, no interest or urgency whatsoever and a couldn’t care less attitude. The staff I dealt with were very pleasant but incompetent bordering on negligent. I get the feeling that they have little support and are under resourced….perhaps they deserve credit for coping under these circumstances. As we moved towards our completion date (which wasn’t met) I escalated my concerns to several directors including Andrew, Katie and Catherine. Andrew was the only one who had the courtesy to respond, assured us that he would do what he could to expedite the completion……and then did nothing. Please do not use this organisation unless you want a very stressful and unfulfilling experience. It's completely tarnished my view of the online (cheap) option.

First time buying experience confusing

As a first time buyer I found using Montrose Conveyancing incredibly frustrating. The conveyancer I was allocated was never available on the phone, I called dozens of times, and never got a call back, just an email with a guess of what I was calling about. I had numerous times where the seller contacted me and had information about the sale that I hadn't been consulted on, like changes to the lease and fees I would incur. I was not told about the exchange date ahead of time by Montrose, but instead by the seller just as a customary email to say they were happy it was proceeding. I said I wasn't available by email and if I'm needed call me, and I got an email that day saying to contact them by phone as soon as possible. Conveyancer almost lost the sale after 7 months because of their misunderstanding on the Buildings Safety Act that I had to research and sort myself. Every time I asked why something was happening I was just told "this is normal" instead of having it explained to me. They asked for the wrong deposit amount and were unclear on the funds held by me and I had to question it to get it corrected. As a first time buyer I left no more knowledgable than when I came in.

From first contact with Montrose, I was impressed with the quality of their personnel, their courtesy and efficiency. I have to admit I was dreading the process of selling my property from a legal point of view but Montrose have restored my faith!

Quick Turn Around!

Very quick turn around and very thorough with explaining every report and the process. There were a couple of times we had asked for a call back and didn’t receive one, however you could always get through to them when calling so not too much of an issue at all. Very happy we went with Montrose, and thank you to Danielle & Dani who were on hand at all times. Very good value for money also!
