Incompetent Assessors/Accreditors

My EPC rating is so inaccurate it's laughable. Gone from a G to a B, with no work applied between reports to improve the buildings rating. The visit took 15mins, minimal injection of any areas; report written, submitted and visible on the gov site within 12hrs, yet it's taken them nearly three months to audit the result and they have no interest in quality, validity and integrity of the results or the assessors that they "train" and "qualify". It's purely a money making game to this company. Awful experience.

My EPC certificate is a work of pure…

My EPC certificate is a work of pure fiction, it does not reflect any form of reality to my House at all, The Estimated annual cost for 3 years is overstated on the EPC by 84%, (Their calculation against my actual costs) The whole EPC thing is just a money making, Tick Box exercise, totally devoid of any reality, therefore totally meaningless When I took this up with the assessor and my selling agent they said 'don't worry nobody reads them or takes any notice of them' ridiculous

Bad attitude

Phoned Elmhurst after our surveyor was unable to explain why our EPC rating provided by Elmhurst had gone down two grades in 7 years despite us renewing our central and water heating systems with the latest green technologies and modernising out home. Was greeted by general hostility on the phone, and they demanded to know which assessor had daref to give out their number to the general public - heaven forbid they actually have to defend or explain their rating system to the people that it actually impacts! No wonder our surveyor couldn’t explain their ratings system - it makes lo logical sense and seems to advocate for the endless burning of fossil fuels. Maybe this is a more general problem of how EPCs rate modern, clean technologies. But I felt that Elmhurst had a pretty bad attitude to the enquiry.

My tenant who is in arrears of £24k…

My tenant who is in arrears of £24k (Gratwick is his surname avoid at all costs) arranged for an EPC through an assessor certified by Elmhurst energy to avoid paying rent. The assessor downgraded the property to an F even though the property had a valid E certificate I supplied the evidence to the assessor and Elmhurst but as the assessor didn’t respond they suspended him but REFUSE to take down this invalid certificate. There final response was ‘get another one’ They are supposed to be an accreditation service but really aren’t bothered. Use an assessor that in not accredited by Elmhurst energy.
