Amazing staff on tour

My experience with TravelTeer was amazing. The marine and wildlife volunteering was really fun and the tour was one of the best experiences I’ve had. Our coordinator, Reece, was extremely organised and ensured everything ran smoothly to maximise the quality of our trip. He is also a very friendly person who made the tour group feel like a family. Our drivers, Nalin and Deshan, were also exceptional and I appreciated the hard work they put in behind the scenes whilst always having a smile on their faces.

Volunteering for the English programme…

Volunteering for the English programme was immediately rewarding and extremely wholesome! The children love practicing the language and each day is different. However, the Coast2Coast tour made it the perfect experience due to our co-ordinator: Reece. He treated everyone with such kindness and stayed engaged with the whole group, which made the week of travelling very easy to enjoy. During volunteering weeks, the co-ordinators are extremely helpful and listen to feedback. The experience wouldn’t be the same if it wasn’t for the people running it :)

The management team of travelteer is…

The management team of travelteer is absolutely appalling. From only telling me about missing documents 2 days before departing to Sri Lanka to poor organisation of where we were staying on tour. I felt exploited and lied to when in the booklet sent to me I was told we’d get a cultural show, beach day and beach party when apparently that was removed ears ago. The wording on the laundry option is very sneaky and I had to hand wash everything. The menu sent on the booklet was also completely wrong and although i do get that while being in Sri lanka we’re supposed to eat their cultural food, the food made me so sick I had to stick to vegetarian options and at times meat would come uncooked and hairs in the meal. They also lied about the accomodation and made it look so much nicer than what it really is in social media. Knowing what I now know i’d probably still come (for less time) but i just wished i could’ve made more of an informed decision. As people have also said here, the mental health programme needs to be improved. It feels like your doing it for the sake of doing it, it doesn’t feel like ur making much impact. Nalika’s sessions have been extremely interesting but i wish there was more activities to do not just talking. The orphanage was probably the hardest place to go to just because of the appalling conditions these kids are living in, i wish travelteer empowered us more to make more of an impact on the orphans. The positives is that the coordinators are amazing. Scarlett feels like a friend and she’s so helpful, cheerful and all round an amazing professional and friend. The amount of times she’s calmed my anxiety down by telling me where i’m staying and just giving me information, give her a pay raise and a day off. There is no words for Reece, this man literally carries this company on his back, he’s so relatable but also ready to help. Tour was the best because he was there always ready to help and informing us as soon as he could of the next plan. Reece needs a pay raise, the amount of work this man does is crazy. He never stops working i even question if he sleeps cuz he’s always ready to help. The meals during tour were definately way more varied but at times there was not enough food and we were left hungry for both lunch ans dinner and had to buy a second meal. Nalin also needs a pay rise, the best driver ever. Alwyas happy to help and such a character, during the tour in Kandy he even took us to this Buddhist festival in Kandy and told us a little about it. What an amazing man.

My 4 weeks in Happy Valley

I have almost completed my 4 weeks in Morocco for the community development programme ran by country manager Paula. I had an exhilarating 4 weeks in yhr village we stayed packed with fun, adventure and good vibes. There is nothing i can fault. Along the programme i also enjoyed the optional weekends away allowing us to explore different cities in Morocco with the volunteers and Paula. Paula is the best we all love her. Recommend 100%

Tour with Travelteer

Just finished the tour with Travelteer, was an incredible week. Wasn’t a single part I didn’t enjoy. Fleur was our coordinator and she truly made it the best experience! I would really recommend the tour for anyone coming to volunteer in Sri Lanka!
