We had a similar disappointing experience to another reviewer on here. Dan approached us on Facebook after we advertised for someone to repair our oven. He wasted a week before ghosting us. We tried calling twice and he just ignored us. We found this unprofessional and rude. Jes Smart from Smart Domestic Repairs saved the day and did a great job.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! TIME WASTER!! Posted on a local Facebook group requesting a handyman to come on a Sunday and fit some twin slot shelving. This chap replied to say he’d do the job and then tried to charge £80 to put in 10 screws. Did negotiate a more reasonable rate but did not reply when I asked what time I could expect him the next day. I messaged again to check the time the next morning and after 2 hours of no reply I told him I needed the job done that day and it was fine if he’d rather not do it as I’d had someone else offer to come and sort it. He replied to say he still wanted the work and would be with me around 4. By 6pm with no contact and having ignored my 2 messages and 2 calls I figured he wasn’t coming! Utter let down! Why offer to do a job that’s not related to your field of “expertise” if you don’t really want it? And why, when the customer offers to let you out of your obligation because it is imperative the work is done that day and they have another offer, would you double down on doing the work only to let the customer down and then just ghost them?!

Let down, arranged to come do some work twice and didn’t show up on both occasions, no phone call or text nothing, when finally got through to him to Finnish the work that he started I was told ild have to wait another week or find someone else.

Dan came to the rescue this week when I needed some urgent work doing before my carpets were fitted. He was polite and professional, friendly and approachable. He did a great job and charged a fair price. I would recommend him to anyone.

I don't usually give reviews but Dan did such a good job I thought it was only fair. He did his very best to fit the job in when I was available as I'm very hard to fit around because I have a lot of health probs. Dan is fairly priced and did a thorough job. So I'm very pleased. I will defo be using him again in a few weeks to fit more sockets :)
