A brilliant experience at Carl Lewis! I had been considering a bespoke suite for a few years and after a bit of research and an initial consultation I decided to contact Carl Stuart tailors. My old wedding suit was no longer an option as I had expanded beyond its habitable zone since hitting my forties. My decision to finally take the plunge was also due to my need for clothing that reflected my profession as an artist, something I knew would fit and give off the right look when meeting clients and fulfilling professional engagements. As one of life’s natural scruffs I admit to feeling daunted when I walked into the Carl Stuart shop in Leeds for the first time (a beautiful shop btw). To me, suits were always something proper grown-ups wore and not for the likes of me. I needn’t have worried. Upon meeting Lewis, the store manager, he immediately put me at ease and assured me that lots of people need a suit at some point in their lives as I regaled him with my potted history of poor clothing choices and negative body image. I’m a short, fat bloke in case you were wondering. Anyway, where was I? Oh yes. Lewis went through lots of options and quickly understood what I was looking for. After a chat over a brew, we settled on a three-piece blue-grey tweed suit with a wine-coloured lining. Very classic, something that will serve me well for years. I found the fittings quite fascinating as I enjoy looking at how things are made. I had basically commissioned Lewis to perform a heroic act of concealment and was curious as to how he would go about it. As the fitting progressed, I was amazed at how comfortable the suit was and I didn’t feel hemmed in at all if you’ll pardon the pun. I am really chuffed with how the suit turned out and can’t wait to wear it. The whole experience was made even better by the service from Lewis and communication from him and his colleague Emily. My family have all got suits from Carl Stuart and i can see why. Lewis was fantastic, he made my crazy design a reality. From step one of going through my design; deciding the perfect shade of purple and all the trimmings, to the fittings themselves, it was a wonderful experience. Top class. Not only a great tailor but a lovely gent too. We talked about cars, music and all the rest which made it a far more personal experience than just a usual transaction. Perfect. By far exceeded my expectations for my wedding suit!

What a fantastic experience. Lewis made the process of buying a suit so enjoyable. I’m now the proud owner of the best suit I’ve had in my entire life. Suits are made in a local factory from UK cloth. It’s hard to give them anything but five stars.
