Lightning Pass - great way to get CBT

Wembley - Paul in particular was patient and used humour to help relax everyone on the course. It's very easy to get tense when you need to be calm and gentle with the controls. After 28 years I am back on a bike and thoroughly enjoyed today. Thank you.

Excellent training

Excellent training - the instructors were friendly, approachable and above all professional. They made learning fun, and didn't mind how long it took you to get to the necessary level - add patient to the list above! Would highly recommend them to anyone wanting any training from the most basic to the highest level

Brilliant

Absolutely fantastic training and staff. All very friendly, good bit of banter with them all (Abingdon site). I was very nervous on the first couple of days and they really put my mind at ease. Passed my DAS with them on 2nd attempt.

Good value and good training

Good value and good training. Booked in for 4 days training as part of getting my DAS licence. Ended up failing my Mod 2 first time round and the office was very helpful with re-booking and arranging my test and getting some time in on the bike the day of. I found that Richard, Brian and Paul in particular were great instructors. Would recommend using Lightning to anyone looking to get their licence in London.

I would give zero stars if I could

I would give zero stars if I could. Head office in Oxford were super quick to take my money however when THEY had to cancel my booking they were not so quick to return it. This situation caused me issues I did not want or need for a booking that was suppose to be for a pleasant situation that they tarnished unnecessarily. Simply put by the staff taking time to think about their responses rather than just quoting standard terms in blanket emails to me, providing the name of the Mansger rather than me having to request it via telephone as the request for the details were ignored several times and putting some thought and empathy behind it this could have been avoided. They eventually returned my money but the whole experience with them was frustrating and took away time that could have been spent on a much more positive endeavour. I do not recommend this company to any one and I have gone back to the two individuals that recommend them to me and advised them not to promote their services to any one else.

Honest review

Hi all. I will share my own experience with these guys. I have started to train with them initial for 2 days. First of all I want to tell that we've spent 30 min - 1 hour for mod1 training! (instead of full day). Secondly - all their coaching was only to comment something like "here is 30 miles per hour speed, there is 20 miles per hour speed, switch off your indicators”. So after mod 1 training we've headed for a ride and this was fine, just a regular ride. After the ride we went to Uxbridge test centre where I succsessfully passed my mod1. Second day was only riding (less time then we suppose to ride). After the ride I've tried to do my mod2 test, but failed because "Inadequate speed approaching roundabouts and poor meeting jugment", which is fine, these were my mistakes, but: I haven't been told anything about this, while I was riding on the road, ANYTHING. Fair enough, I have booked another 2h session with them and again, on training day, according the instructor I was riding perfectly, hovewer nothing has been told to me about my mistakes and again I failed my test. It's ok, I have booked 3rd session with them and again, I was riding perfectly, no comments about ANY my major mistakes and I failed again. I’ve tried to ask about my mistakes my instructor - hovewer I haven’t got ANY clear answer about how to avoid them, ANY. I'm giving up with this school and I will not recommend it to anyone. The only comments you will hear from the instructor are about speed or not switched off indicator. They are cheap, but it just not worth it, they will not give you any knowledge (despite my instructor being with me when examinier was explaining my mistakes). I would give them only 1 star, not more. P.S. have been to several different bike schools and they all have told me that the instructor HAVE TO explain (or go through) my mistakes if he was with me on Debrief (he was with me all times) P.P.S. It is for London branch, not sure about Oxford and Reading
