Good easy to use software. Detailed year end reviews that are easy to understand and ready to give to a tax professional which is important to me. My bookkeeper is very responsive as well which I like.

Customer service is professional, responsive, and friendly. I worked with 3 different contact people over my 5 years with Bench and each one of them was great to work with.

Great Interface

Great UI / UX. Pricing is definitely fair. Only negative is that sometimes the books take a little longer to get finished every month.

So far so good. I have to be coming up on a year soon. I’m not 100% convinced the tax guy really got me the lowest possible amount of taxes owed. Also for a real small business it’s way overpriced. I’m paying $500 a month for a book keeper to spend what an hour of two per month and the tax guy to spend maybe a few at the most. updating match 11. Business tax filing deadline is march 15. 4 days from now. They have not even attempted to contact me regarding filing my taxes on time which is what i pay for. I had to reach out and the book keeper sad they will pass my message on and make sure an extension is filed. this is ridiculous giving how much they charge and how little effort they put in to doing things properly. Books are consistently way behind as well. I would not trust Bench to do things right and actually be beneficial to your business and help you in any way.. They will do the bare minimum. They will not be proactive in helping your business throughout the year and helping you have less tax liability etc.

Would not recommend

I have been with bench for 2 tax seasons now. I pay a premium every month for their tax services in addition to bookkeeping services. When you sign up, you are assigned to a team (and to one tax professional if you are opting for tax assistance). I have had to correct them on the state level of taxes that I should owe and correct them on the federal tax identification codes that I should be using due to my industry. I have given them leeway due to my line of work being very 'niche' but they seem to be repeating the same mistakes. I will say the group I'm assigned to is very prompt at responding to me in our text communications through the platform/website but any time I want to talk to my tax professional, I have schedule it and the wait is typically a week. During March - June, the wait to talk to my professional is 2 weeks. I don't talk to them often and when I do need them, it's a completely unreasonable wait time. Two weeks ago, I had scheduled a time to phone conference with my tax professional yesterday. I was unable to attend due to sickness. I just got finished calling them back, there is no representative to talk to. I had to leave a message and goodness knows when someone will be able to get back to me. I'm currently vetting for a local bookkeeper/tax preparer. I have no doubt there is an excuse to my treatment. Maybe my company is too small? I pay a premium, so I should be offered the same consideration as anyone else. Maybe the company is too busy? it's your responsibility to handle the work you take on, if you can't you need fix that. I guarantee you won't maintain long lasting customer relationships this way.

Worst company ever

They are the single worst service provider I have ever worked with. I have started three companies and three funds and they managed to screw up virtually everything.TM there are definitely companies that do much better work and everything that goes wrong they blame on their contracts.

HORRIBLE BOOKKEEPING SERVICE.! If you try them out do the month to month agreement instead of the yearly fee even with the free month, they wont do the work when you need it done anyway! It is nearly the end of May and the books for 2023 have not been started, even after I requested for the assistant assigned to me several times both via phone conversation, and through their messaging channel. I was so fed up I went with a different book keeping service who appear to be significantly more experienced and knowledgable regarding online businesses.

I’ve tried Bench 3 times

I’ve tried Bench 3 times and this final time has been horrible. I return this time hoping the service had improved, not the case. I’m disappointed in myself for giving them a third shot. It’s incredibly slow to be paying $299 per month. So far I’ve been charged for 3 months, coming up on a 4th and still my books are not completed. Bookkeeper said he didn’t know how to complete my books and I probably have one of the simplest businesses to do books for with literally one bank account. The connection to your bank account constantly breaks so you have to keep connecting which defeats the purpose of having the service. Bookkeeper disappears and I have to check in with them only to find out still no progress.
