Delicious meals for busy people

I have a disabled partner and some days I am so tired but your delicious meals with so many choices have totally revolutionised my life. They are in a different league of scrumptiousness compared with other ready meals - I have tried them all. Charlie Bigham's are much tastier - my favourites Steak & Red wine casserole or Fish pie but we both enjoy them, all. Thank you for making my life easier and tastier.

Found a very sharp chicken bone in my chicken tikka masala that I nearly choked on!!! Emailed Charlie Bingham who offered me two vouchers for more of the same but didn’t fancy risking it again plus I can’t use vouchers in shops being housebound through disability which I told them then a week later the emailed asking for the bone for analysis which by then I’d obviously thrown it away so told them that and then no reply at all!!! They absolutely don’t care about their customers or the food so that’s it! I’ll buy no more of their overpriced and now dangerous food!!! Thanks for nothing Charlie bighaks you’re just lucky it wasn’t my grandchild who found that bone!!!!

Fish pie ‘scales’ at 4/5 for me

CB’s are great quality tasty meals much better than ‘Taste the difference’ range from JS and Tesco’s equivalent so worth that little extra However have had this meal several times and I get the impression that they may have reduced the quantity of fish and prawns in favour of sauce. If that is the case then I’m slightly disappointed and maybe less likely to buy again. Portion size is a feast for 1, but would not really be enough for 2 Could CB comment below on whether or not they have in fact reduced the amount of fish and prawns in this product ??

Reviewing the fish pie.

We puchased the fish pie. Extremely well made and a well balanced meal. Hard to tell this product was mass produced it had all the hallmarks of a home made pie. We could not fault the product. Yes maybe slightly more expensive than another supermarket product, but why buy something cheap if you have to throw it away. I am in my late 70s so have had a few fish pies in my time but this was the best.

Awful Charlie Bigham

Bought leek chicken and pulled ham gratin from Waitrose, Absolutely awful. The topping was the best hit. Why put smoked ham in this?????L There is no wonder that his produce occupies so many shelves This is the second dish I have bought in his range and the first was even worse .

SIGNIFICANT Quality DROP :( and Price Increase

FLAVOUR gone :( Today's was the Tikka Masala, but we frequently buy from across the range Lasagna, Moussaka, Cottage Pie, Thai Curry, Spanish Chicken and more. There were two notable drops in Quality over the last year or two. It's gone from top of the market flavour to bland and claggy quite gradually. The sauce has gone overly thick, has less flavour, is often less spicy and the rice went from having a nice flavour to a sort of bitter lemon edge. Lasagna, more sauce, less meat, the sauce again thick like flour, not so much cream, much less cheesy, less substance. Sad to say it's the same blatant cost-cutting quality reduction that affects every producer when they move to such a scale. Sauces were claggy rather than creamy. It used to be worth the premium, now there's just as good and better for a fraction of the price at the supermarkets - normally right next to it. Shows you what that "vision" of high quality means when confronted with commercial realities and greed. No doubt having to service higher borrowing / growth costs and overheads. Trouble is gaining back that market share you lose when core customer give up. Barely worth it at a discount now. In fairness it's important to remember there's two portions in these and the quantity and quality of key ingredients is still good / higher than average. And thanks for a few years of high quality food worth feeding the family when you're short on time. Sorry it had to end this way. The noticeable quality compromise and shift in direction and the price hike... no thanks.

So disappointed this evening after a…

So disappointed this evening after a busy few days we popped into Waitrose and bought 3 Chicken and Mushroom pies which were not in the usual pottery containers and the pastry was like lead! We have bought these pies for a few years now and make the 40 minute journey to buy them specially. The recipe in terms of the contents is lacking and the shortcrust is just not the same! I won’t buy them again. Why change it from amazing to a Holland thick type pie instead?
