Our family has been buying Bigham's meals regularly for several years. In the past 18 months we have noticed the price per pack increase significantly whilst the quality keeps getting reduced, presumably for cost cutting measures. At first we thought we might be imagining the quality issue, so after a while we started taking photos of the nutritional information. One example - the latest Chicken Jalfrezi we bought tasted really greasy compared to what we remembered. Turns out it increased from 4.8g fat up to 6.6g fat (38% increase) whilst reducing the amount of chicken in the meal. Another example - the Lasagne dropped from 652 calories in August 2022 to 523 calories in February 2023 suggesting the product has been watered down. The Chilli Con Carne similarly dropped from 701 to 598 calories within the past year. Not impressed.

Fish pie was tasty - but almost all potato! Walter Mondale once famously said, ‘Where’s the beef’? My question is ‘Where’s the fish’? I subsequently contacted the company and, to be fair to them, they responded quickly and have promised a voucher to try the dish again. I will do so in the hope of improvement.

Tikka masala and rice for one reduced from 6.60 to 2.50 in day of expiry, very average, taste was no better than supermarket own brand ready meals, the kind you get as part of a takeaway bundle. Compared to my local takeaway restaurants the portion size was about half but at full price a difference of a about a pound with a 5 or six small chunks of crunchy (ready meals often are like this) chicken which was the best quality. Basically for a small amount more at full price you could get a good quality takeaway cooked for you within the hour, so why would you buy these ready meals?. The 5 star reviews are suspicious to me especially compared to the numerous 1 star. Try if you see heavily discounted but not full price and I often see them discounted in morrisons because they don't fly off the shelves

Every one I have tried so far have been absolutely delicious. Latest one was the ham and chicken gratin. 😋

We have just had the steak and ale pies I am not made about pies but the were delicious so we will certainly be having them again .We have tried some other of Charlie’s dishes and have never been disappointed,every one we have told to try them have all gone back for more .Best dishes we have tried .

The food was well presented and delicious with very good ingredients ,easy to cook in oven. Packaging also great no horrible plastic involved at all. Good value for a very tasty meal. We had the £15 meal deal from Tesco which included Butter chicken,Tarka Dahl and Bakewell tart ,all good quality food . Would highly recommend

Myself and my husband just had the chicken madras for two with pilau rice as part of the Tesco deal. I have to say it was absolutely fantastic!! Full of delicious meat, not too salty, excellent flavours nice and spicy! The Bombay potatoes we got as a side were also fantastic and we are really looking forward to sticky toffee pudding. Will definitely recommend and try the other dishes in the range. Really good value for quality products

Lasagna is fantastic!

Extremely disappointed with the vegetarian lasagne, which seemed to consist mainly of back beans and the courgettes were very chewy. Never again!

Dear Charlie, I feel that I just had to write and tell you how much we enjoyed our meal last night. So here is a “6-star food review” for an extremely delicious Indian Food, Chicken Jalfrezi with Pilau rice dish. I am a huge fan of Indian food, and I have tried many different brands of takeaway curry. However, I have never found one that I love as much as the Chicken Jalfrezi with Pilau rice from Charlie Bigham’s meals. I normally can't afford to buy this brand, as it is quite expensive. However, I was lucky enough to find it in the reduced section of the supermarket the other day. I was so glad that I did, as it was the best supermarket curry that I have ever eaten. Please trust me when I say that we will be treating ourselves to another on at least a “Once a Month” basis, from now on. The Chicken Jalfrezi had the perfect blend of spice, fresh vegetables, herbs, and sauce. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the Pilau rice was fluffy and perfectly seasoned. The dish was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating it! I was also impressed with the quality of the ingredients. The vegetables were fresh and the herbs were flavourful. I could easily tell that the dish was made with high-quality ingredients. The packaging that the dish came in was also perfect. The containers were perfect to cook the dish in the oven with, so I was able to cook the curry quickly and easily in about 30 minutes in the oven. The containers were just the correct size and shape to cook the dish in as well. Overall, I was very impressed with the Chicken Jalfrezi with Pilau rice from Charlie Bigham’s meals. It was the best supermarket curry that I have ever eaten anywhere. I would highly recommend it to anyone who like me loves Indian food.
