this isn't so much a dig at walker Dunn but really all "surveyors" in hindsight I wouldn't have paid £500 for something I could have done myself. I think I was a little naive thinking it would protect us if we did come across something but it doesn't. When viewing a house spend time checking things like the boiler, consumer unit, floors, damp, cracks in walls, etc. things weren't picked up on by walker Dunn and it's cost myself and my partner ££££ since we moved in back in August(new boiler and electrics which were unsafe) and the floors which have a lot of bounce in them and could potentially cost to fix in the future. just do it yourself and spend what you save on any repairs you my come across once you've moved in.

Excellent service. Quick to survey, knowledgable and comprehensive report delivered in clear and methodical way. Report was quickly published, followed by a call offering any support with questions or queries. Everyone you speak with can’t do enough for you. Polite, knowledgeable and keeping you informed of what is or will happen. Customer communications are top notch. I have high standards, I’m very impressed with this company. I would 100% recommend and use again myself.

I received good communication from the surveyor and the admin team prior to the survey being booked in. The survey was completed on the agreed date, and I was pleasantly surprised to receive the comprehensive and well written report the evening of the same day. I will definitely recommend Walker Dunn. Did everything they said they would do - when they said they would do it. Report was very accurate as I have since found when stripping the building back to shell. Excellent value for money as it gave me the required evidence to negotiate a discount.

We recently used Walker Dunn to conduct a Building Survey. The business is excellent for delivering competitive quotes quickly and booking dates for a surveyor to visit the property. We specifically wanted a surveyor that was familiar with Victorian houses that been affected by flooding in Carlisle. We received the survey report on time and it appeared to contain generic copy/paste warnings and a few photos of the property. There was nothing specific about the property that would trigger the need to get a specialist damp assessment. When we actually moved into the house we found obvious areas of damp and issues specific to the house that should have been observed by the surveyor and detailed in the survey report. Contacted Walker Dunn, left a message but no-one spoke to us regarding the issues but responded via email quoting the generic/copy paste warnings that were in the report. It was certainly not worth paying extra for a Building Survey. We are not pursuing further because by taking a low cost quote we've concluded 'you get what you pay for'.

I’ve had two homebuyer surveys through Walker Dunn and on both occasions they have worked swiftly and provided detailed reports which have helped me avoid expensive mistakes. The surveyor I dealt with, Sheryl, was happy to take phone calls after the survey was complete to address any queries which was hugely valuable to me as a first time homebuyer.
