Good customer service rubbish aftersales !

Good customer service when I bought my products however when my amp blew up within the years warranty they were very unhelpful and waited to get back to me until the warranty was up claiming it was now out of warranty and my problem.

Appaling service - do not use.

Ordered a Connects2 ISO adaptor for a Nissan which said was in stock and paid extra for next day delivery. Got an email from the warehouse to say it was dispatched and wait for a tracking number. Heard nothing so 2 days later called them. Said it was a mistake and they would send out that day so I would definately have it the next day. The next day nothing so rang them, they said they would investigate and call me back. 2 Hours later nothing, so I called them again. Apparently the warehouse couldn't find the item and that was the last one so they would have to order one in.

Order online on the 19th Jan

Order online on the 19th Jan, told in stock, received an email saying 'please call us there is a problem' on the 24th Jan. Turns out its out of stock and they try and switch my order to a new product. When I say its pretty slow to tell me its not even been shipped I am told 'I dont sound very happy' and 'I am not here to put the world to rights' by the frankly hopeless agent. Utterly hopeless service that I would never use again.

Misleading stock/ETAs and questionable 'bait-and-switch' tactics

Purchased a Kenwood stereo in their Black Friday sale (27/11). Price was much lower than any other competitors (~£150 cheaper), which should have raised flags to me at the time. I'd just missed out on the ones that were shown as in stock, but I received an email informing more were due in roughly 5 working days. The item re-appeared in stock on their website on the 1st December so I emailed to check mine was going to be dispatched only to be told this was a "fault on their site" and offered to swap the stereo for a "direct competitor" which turned out to be a Road Angel unit with zero reviews. I did not reply to this email as I wanted to wait for the Kenwood. I received a second email on 21st December saying this date had now been pushed to the "end of January at the earliest", and again offered to swap me to the Road Angel unit. I was surprised they were pushing this other unit so much, so I did some digging and found out that Road Angel are owned by the same parent company as Car Audio Centre (In Phase International Ltd) so that would explain the attempt to swap me to one of their own brand products. It also appeared to me that the unit was a white-label of another unit made by a third party judging by the similarities of their user manual to other units from Blaupunkt. I kindly replied that I was happy to wait, as I was in no rush to receive the unit. I received a follow-up email on the 13th January which was CC'd to everyone on their waiting list for the unit (not BCC'd which is a breach of privacy) saying that they now had no idea when the stock would be due in, and we had 2 DAYS to make up our minds between either a refund or the above mentioned Road Angel unit, and even went as far as suggesting the Kenwood had flaws in some of it's functionality. I was given no option to continue to wait for the Kenwood, DESPITE the fact they are still happily taking orders on their website for it with an ETA of 31st March. I have since spoken to other people in the car audio world who have informed me that this kind of "bait-and-switch" tactic is something they have been doing for a long time now, and if you look at other reviews on this very platform you will see other customers offered replacement products that were in one other customer's opinion inferior (ref: 'Hal Gillian' 17/01/2022). I will never give this company any more of my business and advise everyone to avoid them and stick with more reputable suppliers.

Very poor customer service…

I've used Car Audio Centre in the past without any problems so when I wanted an amplifier to give to my daughter as a Christmas present I used them again, despite other companies having the same item for sale at the same price. I ordered on the 18th November to make sure I had it in good time. Sarah was pleased with her gift and brought her car to my house for me to fit it on the 1st January but when I went to fit it in the front boot of her Porsche Boxster, which is the usual place in these cars, I found it was too big. I contacted customer services on the 4th which I presumed would be the first day they opened after the bank holiday and explained the situation to which I was told to fill in a returns form. On the 6th January I received a reply from the sales department informing me that my request had been rejected due to it being outside the returns window. This was very surprising as most retailers allow extra time to return Christmas gifts. I even told them that I had the intention of exchanging it for a smaller amp which was 50% more expensive. I feel their attitude was extremely harsh and because of this I will never use this company again.

Dishonest company with poor service. AVOID them and their own brand 'premium' products

Absolutely terrible service and products. I phoned to order a reputable brand with stock showing on their website, they said they didn't have any in stock so pushed their own product under the name of 'DB AUDIO'. They insisted they were a high quality premium product, I was in a rush so ordered them at a cost of £150 just for 4.5" T-Rex 5.2 component speakers. The sound quality has always been poor and after just 2.5 years (bearing in mind a lot of that has been lockdown so my van has had minimal use) both cones have completely failed. I will never be using this company again and recommend that you don't either. They're dishonest and push their own poor quality products on you and are completely unhelpful when they fail. Warranty aside, I'd expect £150 'premium' speakers to last much longer than 2.5 years. All my other kit is still going strong after 10 years. AVOID this company and buy a reputable brand.

You find out more when things go wrong.

You find out more when things go wrong. Very good customer service, from Car Audio, keeping me informed and offering alternative when the item was not available. Even responding to email on the weekend when the office is closed. Excellent delivery tracking and information.

No stock then spoken to a rudely

Bought a head unit online and they had 5 in stock according to their website. Waited a week but then decided to phone up to chase as had no email saying it had been dispatched, it was New Years but they were open on the week I ordered it. When phoned up was met by someone a bit condescending saying why would you want to buy a 5 year old head unit, it’s like buying an iPhone 7 (his actual words) and going on about compatibility etc, my partner has an iPhone 7… was asked if I wanted to change it but declined as I wanted to have a look online as I wanted volume buttons and just asked for a refund. He was about to put the phone down and I asked how long it would take and his response was “it’s PayPal, it’s instant”, then put the phone straight down before I could say anything else. Was a bit taken back by his attitude and rudeness. Why advertise a head unit, say you have stock, don’t contact your customer etc.

Terrible after sales service…

Purchased a Kenwood digital car stereo but had problems from the offset, screen mirroring never worked, Bluetooth cuts out during a call and stereo turns itself off and on! Contacted car audio centre and they would not exchange, only gave me an address of a repair centre to send the stereo to which would leave me with no stereo in my vehicle for weeks! Absolutely appalling after sales service!!
