My husband bought me my duffle coat as a Christmas present. We looked through the various websites and chose your company as it’s British. We always try to buy British products because of the quality craftsmanship etc. I chose the coat I wanted and completed the online sale. We were very surprised when my coat arrived two days later! I was also very thrilled that I chose two sizes bigger than my normal size - and the coat fitted perfectly. Everyone I meet has commented on my beautiful coat and I have no hesitation recommending your fantastic company. The craftsmanship on the coat is second to none. Thank you, and I hope that your company go from strength to strength.

3 month battle with complaints completely ignored!
I had an awful 3 month battle with this company to get my coat... this was my email of complaint to which I received no reply! This company is shocking! Don’t trust them! Read my essay to find out my ordeal!... I purchased my Duffel coat on Amazon in August 2017… Initially thrilled with the garment and wore it throughout the winter. In May the following year it was pointed out to me how bad the coat had bobbled, to which you agreed. My thoughts were that the coat was not cheap and made from good quality Italian wool, therefore I decided to get in touch with Montgomery Via Amazon to address the issue. Your response was to explain that wool can bobble and could I send some images so you could examine if it was excessive or not. Of course I obliged and it was determined that I should send the coat back for full examination and potentially receive a brand new Jacket if deemed excessive. Early June I sent a catch up email to enquire if you had received the coat as I’d not heard anything. To my delight I was offered a new coat. By this time it was summer so the coat was hung up ready for the winter. Late September I finally put the coat on to sadly discover the zip didn’t work properly. So I contact you via Amazon to notify you of the issue. Once again I received a message asking me to return the jacket so you could replace the zip and send it back. I had a two week annual leave in October and returned to find my coat had been delivered to a neighbours house. Sadly when I opened the package I found I’d been sent a brown coat (mine was charcoal) with a note apologising for any inconvenience offering me 10% off my next purchase! Once again I emailed to alert you of your mistake. You replied saying you would look into the matter. 24 hours after this you got in touch to inform me another coat would be sent out. By this point I was completely understanding of the fact that these things happen and not remotely upset by the scenario. A week later, very frustrated and cold I still hadn’t received my coat! So yet another email was sent to enquire about its arrival… I was informed the coat had been damaged in transit and yet again another coat would be sent out. I asked for it to be sent next day delivery and I received my coat 48 hours later. Much to my annoyance the coat was immediately tried on to discover the zip was still faulty as you returned the original coat! As you can imagine I was starting to lose patience and faith in the product plus your services as a company! After complaining yet again your response was to ask me to take pictures of the coat along with the packaging… Why this would make any difference to the scenario I don’t know and quite frankly not the response I was looking for! My email requested a partial refund to cover the costs of having a decent zip put on by a local tailor to which you refused offering to send out a new zip only! By this point I’m exasperated and just want my lovely duffel coat to wear during the winter so requested that another be sent promising to return the other two coats once I’d received it, satisfied I wasn’t being sent the same coat back again. This was also refused advising me I had to send both coats back before another could be sent out. Having no choice I returned both coats and emailed proof of purchase so you could hurry through another coat being sent out. I was advised on the 8th of November that the coat had been posted next day delivery and I would receive tracking information the same day. I never received the tracking information. On the 12th and 13th I sent emails chasing up where my coat was to which I received no reply… by the evening of the 13th I was so fed up I decided to call… I couldn't believe what I was hearing when I was advised the coat had been lost in transit and was offered the choice of two other coats, I was not happy! I went online to check out what the choices were and was shocked to see you were offering my reduced coats! Annoyed I phoned the following day to request a refund which was done straight away. I then went onto your website and ordered myself one of the reduced coats feeling that being £100 better off was the least that could be done for all the hassle I’d suffered. A few days later I still hadn’t received my new coat… by this point i’d become quite upset by the whole process and my husband offered to call to enquire… on doing so he was presented with the customer service adviser laughing down the phone before he had a chance to speak, my husband was advised the jacket was out of stock! I was absolutely outraged that your company had taken my money without having the stock to fulfill my purchase and I wasn't even advised of this on purchase! And I was not advised for nearly a week of waiting that the coat would never arrive. Since when did online shops start taking customers cash when the product is out of stock, I’ve never encountered this before! Yet again WE had to make the phone call to find this out. By this point all I wanted was my coat, I was cold and very upset. Another refund was requested and I went on Amazon in search of another duffel coat. One was found under a different sellers name but I was soon saddened to learn that it was actually a pseudonym of your company and I’d have to deal with you yet again in order to get my coat. Under sufferance I placed another order and paid extra for next day delivery feeling very out of pocket and hard done by! My husband called your customer service team who he’d been liaising with earlier that day to check that the coat was actually in stock and the order would be delivered the following day as paid for. He was advised that the order had been received, dispatched and tracking details would be emailed to me that day. It’s no surprise to say I never received those tracking details, however I did receive my coat as requested and promised by Amazon as they provide a good service unlike yourselves. Adding insult to injury my husband received an email from the same person he spoke to last asking if i’d received my coat as she’d not seen any order come through!… this person had clearly forgotten the conversation she had had with him a few days prior! proving to me that your company is quite frankly a joke! In total it took me 3 months to sort out a minor fault with my purchase with out any apologies or attempt to remedy with any satisfaction the whole ordeal. And your customer service team was quite honestly lacking in professional customer care for ambassadors for a so called quality brand. I would like to hear your thoughts on this to resolve the upset you have caused? If this complaint is not responded to me with my satisfaction rest assured I will quite simple paste this entire email onto reviews on Amazon, your website, social media, google reviews and also put in a complaint to Amazon about your incompetence and how the complaint has been dealt with.

Returned the coat 3 weeks ago…
Returned the coat 3 weeks ago (thankfully by Royal Mail tracking) as I've had no acknowledgement of the return and no reply to 2 e mail enquiries asking where my refund is. I've phoned twice, they acknowledge receipt of the coat but blame slow communication from ' The Warehouse' for processing this. I was told last week that a refund would be given that day 'even though it will cause us problems' ! How is that my problem as a customer then?! Still haven't received my refund and not holding my breath , next step will be to contact my credit card company to effect a chargeback under Sect 75 of Consumer Rights. Wouldn't touch this company with a bargepole again...terrible way to treat customers
