Burcin was amazing

Burcin was really helpful gave me all the information I needed I haven’t had the operation yet but she made it very welcoming. I have booked it for next year and hopefully the experience is good.

Overall no regrets

I'm now 4 months post op and have lost 3.8 stone. I couldn't be happier with the results from this hospital. I travelled alone for this surgery but you can take a plus 1 as your support, after some initial confusion at the airport when I couldn't find my driver. I was picked up and taken to the hospital which was clean, from the outside it worried me but once you're in it was fine. The pre-op was really intensive which was good but also seen two people refused surgery due to health risks, whilst this is disappointing to those effected it was reassuring that they were not willing to take any chances. The surgery I had done went well, and I'm happy with the outcome, every surgery is a risk and something I didn't take lightly, i did a lot of research and was lucky enough to know three people who had been to the same surgery. i chose my surgeon based on my friend's experience but did have to pay more to select a specific surgeon to perform the operation I went for Ergin Aslan and thankfully had no complications, I would say that this is not easy..... surgery itself if the easy part. It's learning to eat again and come to terms with the fact you'll never enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet ever again. but its worth it.....

Amazing hospital!

Had gastric sleeve surgery 2 years ago. Do not have a single complaint was looked after from start to finish. My co ordinator was Burcin Ozturk and the communication was great. My surgery was done by Dr Ergin Arslan and I swear this man has saved me life and he is lovely. I have now booked for further surgery in the new year that is how much I trust this hospital. Again Burcin is dealing with all the co ordinating for me and is so helping answering all my questions.

I went to Baypark Hospital in Istanbul…

I went to Baypark Hospital in Istanbul in September 2024 for a gastric sleeve. My coordinator Efe was great at being in touch, answering questions, until my deposit was paid. At this point he became difficult to get hold of and I had to direct all my questions through my travel coordinator, Selin. Selin was helpful. Transfer was great, lovely car. Hospital was fine. I was pleased with my package being hospital only (no hotel) as I liked the security of staying in hospital for the full four days. The pre-op tests were so thorough, ones I didn’t even expect and so much more than you’d receive in the UK. I’d have paid 6x the amount for the procedure locally, with one night stay in hospital. Hospital translator takes you to all of your tests and is in hand all day I think 9am-5pm type hours. Nurses during the day are lovely. The male charge nurse is brilliant: professional, caring, gentle, good English. Night shift nurses are largely hard to get hold of and some are so unprofessional. Just keep buzzing until you grind them down 😂 Hospital was clean, cleaners cleaned my room every day. Lovely view out over a park right side it, which you can go and sit in. You receive a CT scan before your drain is removed so I felt really satisfied that there would be no leaks, risk etc. I went for my endoscopy and then straight to surgery and I believe this is the way the surgeon there works as this is how everyone was done when I was there. No waiting around in between the two. Aftercare from my coordinator has been non existent. He said he would be in touch from two weeks post op as this is when ‘aftercare starts’ but I had to leave a 5 ⭐️ review first and screenshot it to him. So I suppose I won’t be receiving aftercare from him.

Neglectful

My partner put the bed rails up when I was sleeping, woke up in the middle of the night for a wee and I could take them down to get to the toilet pissed myself pressed the alarm for the nurses and no one was coming pressed it again and again and again no one was coming finally shouted to my partner to get up so we walked down the corridor and the male nurse was sleeping the other female nurse and male get slim worker had disappeared together, my bed was soaked me and my partner had to search the ward for bedding ourselves, I was left for hours I couldn’t shower yet so couldn’t wash, I needed wipes to clean myself but didn’t manage to get them , I took pictures of the nurse sleeping at the desk and a video of my self pressing the nurse button numerous times and no one comes. Brought it to attention the next day to other people at the hospital and they said they will deal with it, we’ll on my last day of care at the hospital they put 2 out of the three staff back on the ward with me the get slim worker apologised and said he was ill apparently so the female nurse had to look after him 😂and the male nurse that got put back on the ward didn’t mutter one word to me no apology or anything. It was disgusting the neglect I felt was ridiculous. Also not very good at cannulas, i was like a pin cushion the last one they done I kept telling them it isn’t in right, it doesn’t feel right it’s really painful and blood was going up the tube , my hand and arm was swelling really bad it ended up being 5 times the size of my other hand they was refusing to take it out in the end I said I was gunna pull it out myself so they took it out and refused for them to try again and they had done multiple times, so ended up missing pain relief, antibiotics and the drip. EDITTT I’ve contacted them and my reply is basically the staff got “necessary warnings” which is obviously not acceptable as they put they staff back on a ward to care for me. The get slim man did apologise but the nurse that works for this hospital didn’t come in to apologise he just avoided me at all cost, absolutely disgusting
