Sleeve-Operation

Stock.

Great experience at gozde for gastric sleeve

Had my gastric sleeve done on the 13th June by Dr kemiksiz. Could not fault the care I received at the hospital at all, anything I needed the staff were more than happy to help me, they speak minimal English but have google translate in hand when needed which was super helpful. The sleeve was done successfully with no complications, what I was quoted is what I paid. When I landed back in the UK my coordinator still checked in on me to make sure all was okay. I would recommend anyone who wanted to take this step on their weight loss journey to go to gozde, amazing care from start to finish and great communication!

I had a Gastric Sleeve in Turkey at the…

I had a Gastric Sleeve in Turkey at the Izmir hospital in June 24 My Coordinator Efe was excellent, until I was actually there and messages were being ignored and only replied to when chased. Transfers between airport/hospital/hotels were excellent and drivers were friendly. I was collected early Saturday morning and taken for my pre-op tests which were well organised and thorough. When i got to the hospital i seen the dietician who was helpful and spoke goods English. I was then given a fit to fly letter on the day I arrived, not the day i was leaving! how could they know i would be fit to fly? and paid additional £95 for prescription vitamins and shakes (shakes were optional) After my operation the nurse got me out of bed while i was still heavily sedated telling me to walk and i almost collapsed. Gas pain was horrific, but the nurses were there with regular pain medication, anti sickness and antibiotics. My companion and myself were there for 3 nights and food for my companion was awful and the same every day, which she couldn't eat. The hotel was actually closed and doors locked while we were there due to holidays. Even the Cafe was closed, so she couldn't get food from there either. I asked if there was a Cafe before we flew out, but was not told it would be closed due to holidays The room wasn't cleaned during the whole 3 days we stayed there, my feet were black just from being in the room. My sheets had blood on them and again they wasn't changed the whole time i was there. My drain was pulled out and i was just told the mini bus will meet me downstairs. I have had no advice on aftercare whatsoever! I was promised a free dental consultation while i was there, again I never received this, despite contact from my Coordinator advising me just 2 days before I flew out I could get an Invisilign consultation. I messaged while I was there and was told, its holidays so I wouldn't get this. He would have know this when I booked my dates but still allowed me to believe my consultation would be taking place while I was there. I was told as part of my package, i would receive a free teeth whitening kit...surprise surprise I didn't receive this either. I have contacted my Coordinator since I have been back about the issues above and he hasn't even opened my What App message Transport great, doctors and nurses great but that's all

Male sure you get fixed price. They also don't tell u that if yoyr surgery can't go ahead for any reason and you have undergone tests you have to pay 60%

I was all booked amd had psyched myself up for months. I need a special medication for surgery which was confirmed before paying for insurance etc and again 2 days before leaving the UK. Upon arrival at the airport I received a text from my coordinator saying the medication needed was not produced in turkey so could I bring it with me like it was a paracetamol. It had been confirmed previous to me even before booking insurance as there was no point paying insurance if they could not get medication so £170 paid after confirming they HAD the medication. There is no excuse or reasoning behind this as they received an email from the haemophilia centre with step by step instructions and still confirmed. After sending an email.of complaint twice I have still had no response or apology from gozde. I approached another hospital in Turkey who have confirmed the medication is readily available so they do not know what is the reasoning behind gozde saying the medication is not produced in turkey. Upon asking my coordinator how he confirmed the medication to begin with if not available he stopped responding apart from to say would you rather take risks? No I'd rather have not been lied to by confirming rhe medication was in place and even sending me a WhatsApp saying he had even double checked with his colleagues on the Saturday so I paid insurance on Sunday to fly Monday. So flights amd insurance out of pocket due to empty confirmation of medication. Very poor effort from Gozde and to not even respond to 2 emails one in English and 1 in Turkish is just plain rude I have since spoken to another coordinator who has said his manager WILL deal with this and confirming the email address I have sent messages too. I am still awaiting a response from Gozde. I flew home on 10th June. UPDATE ON 10/07/24!!!! despite speaking to another coordinator who promised the manager would deal with this I have still had NO contact from Gozde. PLEASE be aware of hidden costs!!!

Beware - add extra charges post op!

I booked for a gastric sleeve in Jan 24 for weight loss. I had the surgery in June 24 and was charged an extra £500 on my first day post op, for a hernia repair I did not consent to, nor been made aware this was a potential cost Jan 24 – Consultation at Manchester Roadshow Ø I informed the surgeon and his assistant of my Hiatus Hernia, including my prescribed medications of Omeprazole. There was no discussion of an extra charge for this, nor was there any documents/consents signed. I did not even receive a receipt for the £100 deposit I paid. Ø No information/leaflets etc was given to me following the consultation regarding the operation at all. 11th June – pre op tests and surgery day Ø When paying the remaining balance of £2650, the Dietician tried to sell me a further package of £250 for different size staples for closure of my incisions. I did not take this option as I found it a little bizarre.   Ø I went for the endoscopy and nothing was mentioned about my hernia, and certainly did not inform there would be an extra charge. I had had no problems with my hernia as long as I was taking my Omeprazole. I have to question if the hernia was torn during the endoscopy or the surgery itself. 12th June – day one post op Ø I was informed by and money taken by the Dietician. I didn't know how to challenge it, or say no at the time. I paid £500 by card at reception desk. Ø The reasons I did not challenge extra charge in Turkey was because I was one day post op - still had lots of drugs in my system. I felt coerced and that I could not say no. PLEASE BE WARY WHEN BOOKING ANY KIND OF SURGERY ABROAD. I was so keen to lose weight and get this surgery. 2 weeks down the line I am still regretting it. £500 isn't a lot of money to some people, but it is to me. It's not just the money either, it's the principle. There was no prior discussions/information about this possible extra charge. My hernia had been under control before all this, and at no stage did any of the team in Turkey raise it an issue, so it didn't occur to me that this was a potential complication.
