We needed a new walk in shower, due to all the family having mobility problems! We had 3 quotes - all from very nice people, but decided to go with our gut feeling about Mitch. So pleased we did, we actually call him our ‘hero’, due to many previous awful encounters with workman, finally we have found a company who are honest, hard working and most of all just really nice people. Our bathroom was done by Tomas, who was friendly, professional, hardworking and cleaned up like I had done! It was a pleasure having Tomas in our home, and our bathroom looks stunning. Over a year on and still looks gorgeous. The sealant did lift recently and hubbie had a go at it and didn’t go well. So Mitch sent one of his lads round to put it right, looks great again! He has also helped us with an electrician, again professional and very good at his job. Also he put us in contact with another man, who fixed our long running issue with our guttering. Very pleased to how found Grand Union, after years of cowboys, we now have people we can trust. If you need a job doing, don’t look any further than Mitch and his colleagues. Thanku again. We now need a new boiler and Mitch will being doing this as well, peace of mind that the work will be done to a high quality, they clean up very well afterwards and they don’t take you on. A very rare thing these days. Thanku again to everyone at Grand Union. x

On moving to the property, rented to me by Thomas Connolly estate agents and paying in excess of £3000/- in deposit and rent to move in, only to discover no heating in the property and the toilet does not flush well—The 2 main things in a property which one really worries about. When I reported the issue with the toilet flush, I specified that it is a weak flush and tried to explain it to the property manager, Sam as much as possible becos it is embarrassing to describe some of the issues. I specified that once you have used it for a bowel movement and put the used tissues in, you have to flush it about 3 or times, to clear all the things’ in it. I would have put up with the situation, if I knew how unhelpful this estate agent is. Its just that in the morning, waiting for the toilet to fill back again and flush and fill back and then flush and repeating 3 4 tiems, takes up atleast 15 minutes of that valuable time in the morning, when you are rushing for work. I reported this issue, in writing to the property manager Sam at Thomas Connolly who said that the issue has been reported to a company called Grand Union Plumbing estate agents. Today I receive a message from Sam, saying Grand union plumbing have come back to him to report that there is ‘ no issue with the toilet flush and he has sent a video of the toilet flushing toilet paper!!! I never reported that the toilet flush does not flush toilet paper and was quite shocked at the response. The property agent further says that he would in normal circumstances have to charge me for a nonsense call, but out of ‘courtesy’ has decide not to do it this time. Grand Union property agents asked me for a review and I said that I am shocked that they have not even addressed the issue of ‘weak flush’ and that they have painted me as a ‘nonsense reporter/ caller’. I spoke to the plumbing company manager who said it was a communication issue. They said that the property manager from Thomas Connolly told them that ‘the toilet flush is not working’ and hence they sent a video back to show the toilet is flushing toilet paper!!!!it is not my role to comment on who said what , but i would have thought that before taking on a job, the plumbing agent would have asked what the issue is rather than giving a completely false picture. Somebody here is not doing their job properly or is being very unhelpful and deliberately discriminative. I do not know if it’s a communication issue from whom to whom, but I am very upset at the way this issue has been handled. After paying this massive deposit and rent, I have been handed stuck with a property as I have signed a contract now, where the heating is unreliable and toilet flush is weak and if I report anything, I am the odd one / weirdo out here. If you are unfortunate enough to have rented a property via Thomas Connolly estate agents like I have been, then please do not report any issues, as they will paint you as a 'weirdo' and in their theory, you have rented a property,’ you are doomed for so many months, whatever problem you have , you just shut up and give us no headache’.
