The 5 star reviews are scams themselves, because this company is a trash. I bought an RMS Partner site for R11 000 back in 2018, and they stole my money, and went AWOL on me. No replies to my emails at all.

Personally I wouldn't give them 1 star. Absolute con, they will take your money, they put absolute garbage stock on there, you have no control over any part of the website, they sell what is supposed to be yours (the website itself) to many other people. They tell you not to register the company with companies house or HMRC. They control everything about your website and company. You can only get hold of them for advice for a short while, they then can't be reached or ignore your requests for contact. The say they are calling from a London "office" at first but if you have call recognition, the call comes from Johannesburg or cape town in south Africa. Do not touch with a barge pole, absolute crooks only after your money.

Firstly, the positives. Natalie and the customer support team were extremely prompt and efficient at answering my questions. However, my overall experience wasn't positive for the £399.99 I paid for my store. The store was delivered to me within 24 hours. Perhaps this time frame affected quality because the result was a very basic looking site (very). I was willing to accept this regardless. The main problem came however when I asked about how to apply VAT of 20% to my products as I'm in the UK and the suppliers are in China. I was very surprised to be told that their plugin (RMS plugin) doesn't have a feature to easily adjust this. Most surprising for a company that specialise in delivering Ecommerce platforms for global clients. I was told to add it to the markup prices, which was pretty confusing and not straightforward. Anthony (the head of the company) stepped in and started giving me (incorrect) tax advice. He told me that I didn't need to add VAT until I reached £85,000 in sales - this is usually the case but not when your suppliers are based in China. He then admitted that he wasn't qualified to issue tax advice. He then shut me down with 'we've been building sites for 20 years and never had any problems' etc. I asked if it was possible for me to download Woocommerce plugin as it has these features taken care of, with very specific adjustments in settings such as: 'Yes, I will enter prices inclusive of tax', 'No, I will enter prices exclusive of tax'. Furthermore, Woocommerce allows you to restrict geographical location of your customers which RMS confirmed to me they don't offer. The RMS plugin is very incompatible with pretty much any other plugin so is quite restrictive. When I asked about Woocommerce, I was told by Anthony that 'You can do what you want the site, but not on my servers. We do not support or host woocommerce sites, we provide free hosting for 12 months on our servers for the sites we build and sell only.' I then had to move the site to my own servers and then had to redesign the site again from scratch by myself, paying for a freelance designer. They allowed me the mercy of keeping my domain name. Also, in terms of help with marketing, the help is nothing more than a series of videos that you could find pretty much anywhere. There's no active help in setting up ads etc. The £399.99 that I paid was 100% wasted. It's a lot of money for someone like me to put down and I thought it was going to be a worthwhile investment. If RMS are willing to offer me a full refund of the money, I'm willing to take this review down. Otherwise, I need to exercise my right to speak out about my experience. *Update: The ever-argumentative bully that is Anthony replied to my review accusing me of blackmail, claiming that I had the chance to preview the store. This is completely untrue. They had draft versions of the site on their website and once I paid, I received the very trashy looking site 24 hours later, so I don't understand what he means by 'preview'. 'By your own admission' - Anthony doesn't realise that this wasn't a compliment to him directly but to the staff stuck working with him, who I had to be fair to. A word of advice to Anthony: Responding to your client base in a defensive manner only destroys your reputation in the long run. Scrolling down, I can see many more negative reviews here that Anthony has responded to in total denial. All those people can't be wrong. Listen to your client base when they tell you you're no good.

Very good and responsive company
We have had a small shop for many years and were looking for an additional source of income online to help us and our business. We wanted something where we could add our own products (we make handmade candles) as well as products from other suppliers. I am not very skilled with technology, so I needed something that was already set up and easy for me to manage. The bigger , well-klnown companies seem too large to provide personal attention to customers like me in most cases. After inquiring alot before buying our store and receiving prompt and informative responses, as well as being able to see the store before I bought it, we decided to go with the Partner option. I must say that the communication and support, both before and after have been excellent. It is refreshing to receive support without having to wait long. My wife is in charge of online marketing, so the weekly training is fantastic for he. The overall support is excellent. I definitly recommend this company if you want the extra help and support.
