Gone downhill

I have made a number of substantial purchases from hifi hut over that last 2 years. I recently contacted them about a potential purchase, only to be met with numerous unreturned calls and then a conversation with somebody who clearly didn't know what they were talking about. Apparently, the guy I usually deal with has left the organisation, so that may have something to do with it? I don't know? I'm not sure what has happened, but this recent experience has left me no alternative but to shop elsewhere. Very disappointing.

Buying experience was abysmal.

Buying experience was abysmal. Order placed first week in January for speaker stands. Told it would take a few weeks with Brexit and should arrive in early February. Arrived in march but was the wrong item. Then told it will be another 6-8 weeks for replacement that the manufacturer won't ship a single item. After another 6+ weeks waiting for replacement and checking up every 2 weeks for update I was told they couldn’t fulfil the order. Why not tell me that 6+ weeks ago?? Instead of it will take 6-8 weeks and then 6+ weeks later when asked for an update no insight and a clue of when it will arrive. I am also certain that the incorrect order originally was HiFi Huts error as I never heard of any manufacturer in any industry that does not correct an order error. I also find it very hard to believe any manufacturer takes over a week to get back to a supplier regarding order queries (Which was the typical excuse) After 5 months of waiting Hifi huts solution was to offer me another stand or my money back through an email, and "we know the service hasn't been ideal" The Covid excuse ( often given by them) was valid a few months back but the UK is opened up, Brexit (another popular excuse given by Hifi hut) is well and truly settled down and I have received numerous orders within a week from the UK over the past number of months including HiFi equipment. I certainly have no interested in any other stand from HiFi Hut as a solution after 5 plus months of waiting. (Not even a discount offered not that I wanted one) One of the worst companies I have ever dealt will I wouldn't believe a word from them. Since ordered the stands with Analogue seduction on Monday and got confirmation arriving Thursday. 4 days Vs 5 months + with Hifi hut and a bag full of lies. After a 5 months wait (and counting) and being lead up a garden path I certainly wont be ever shopping here again.

I bought a Q Acoustics Q7000i 5.1 Slim…

I bought a Q Acoustics Q7000i 5.1 Slim Home Cinema Pack in June 2020 and a Denon AVR-X2700 7.2 Channel AV Receiver in August 2020 When I connected the system in August I thought that the positive connection on one of the speakers may have been loose and over subsequent months this was confirmed a couple of times when the connection to that speaker failed. When I contacted HiFiHut last Month (March) I was put in touch with Stevie and explained the intermittent fault in the speaker to him. He agreed to look at the speaker and subsequently got back to me to say it would be replaced. On its arrival from the UK, a new speaker was sent out. As a first time customer of HiFiHut my experience has been extremely positive, particularly given the operating restrictions for the past year and I would strongly recommend HiFiHut.

I ordered a Sony strdh190 amplifier…

I ordered a Sony strdh190 amplifier with them. After it has arrived from Sony in Japan at their hut it was with me next day. Unfortunately it wasn't working and next day a new one was delivered and the old one taken by the driver. Absolutely great service and communication by the Team. I can highly recommend them and definitely order with them again

Excellent advice

Excellent advice. Fast shipping in Ireland. Really at the top in Ireland as far as A hifi enthusiast/audiophile provider of advice and stock. Nothing negative in the 10 years I have been dealing with Logic AV/HiFi hut. I have bought a Marantz avr + 7.1 speakers, a set of Hifi headphones, a Sony AVR, A sonos ARC + One SL from them so far.

Would recommend

Would have given this 5 stars but there was a pricing issue so I ended up paying a little extra. Steve handled the situation very well and offered an alternative projector when it was apparent there would be a delay but I ended up waiting for my original purchase. Overall a pleasant experience with a professional service, I will definitely consider buying from hifi hut agsin

So much better than expected

Fast and accurate pre-sales support. Smooth and reliable order and delivery. I just received my floor-stand speakers (2x20kg) with free UPS delivery (from Ireland to Greece). The service they provided in the whole process was so much better than I expected. Thanks guys!

If you don't have it in stock, say so

Earlier in the comments another customer had exactly the same problem 'they take your money then tell you they don't have product' 3 years later and clearly nothing has changed. Got an email after I ordered saying the product wasn't in stock. Why not just be honest and state clearly. 'Not in stock' so that customers can go to a supplier who does have it in stock. UPDATE Daniel at HiFi hut replied to my review, saying that in the interest of clarity he would break down events as he felt my characterisation of them was unfair. So here is the email I received minutes after placing my order. You can make your own mind up whether I'm being unfair or whether I actually held back on the whole might have to order it from the UK. Hi Paul Thank you for your recent order. The Yamaha R-N402 is not an item that we keep in stock at our Dublin store. This item will be ordered from Yamaha's Irish distributor when they re-open tomorrow. If the item is in stock then we should be able to despatch your order later this week. In the event that the unit is out os stock, it will have to be ordered from yamaha UK. We will advise on availability once we hear back from Yamaha Ireland. Regards. Steve.
