Update-received insurance refund from WorldStride

I finally got my refund cheque in June before the company went bankrupt and started issuing bad cheques. They charged $399.00 for a unrefundable cancellation fee, $300.00 cancellation fee and no money back from the $240.00 “cancel for any reason” insurance. They said I could put in a claim with Old Republic Insurance Co of Canada for the $300.00 cancellation fee to get 75% of it refunded. After 6 months of emails, faxes and phone calls I was denied because my “cancel for any reason” insurance did not cover my reasons for cancellation. Those reasons were loss of income and safety concerns of sending my minor child overseas during a pandemic. How is “cancel for any reason” insurance ever legally denied? They then said I could go to Explorica for a refund and that this was covered under their insurance. They just keep passing customers back and forth hoping they will give up. Do NOT ever purchase “insurance” through Explorica or Old Republic. I feel like this is fraud. Update: I received a cheque from Worldstride for the portion of the trip covered by insurance. I had never received and communication that they had even received the claim, just a rejection from Old Republic. Was very happy to receive the refund.

Trip Cancelled (pandemic)--NO REFUND 5…

Trip Cancelled (pandemic)--NO REFUND 5 months later BE WARNED--DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY---- Horrible communication from this company with no feedback at all on where our refund is. 5 months and still no word. Involving the School board now to see if I can up the pressure.

Covid Cancellation nightmare

Still awaiting on a claim for a cancelled trip from March 2020.....Explorica passes the buck to the insurance company and vice versa.....No problem taking the $ for my son's trip but time to give it back! I would not ever book another trip with Explorica!
