We purchased a whole side of salmon and a bottle of wine for a family friend for Christmas as a family tradition. However, there was some hiccup with the delivery because of the covid pandemic and the salmon arrived late and was not cold. When I contacted Lambton & Jackson about the hiccup, they assured me that the salmon was fit for consumption and need not be stored at fridge temperature because it was cured. I explained that my family friend was very elderly and he was still concerned that the salmon wasn't cold. I also highlighted the importance of the gift as this family friend had been sending my grandfather smoked salmon for 20 years when my grandfather was still alive, and our family wanted to repay him for his generous gifts. Mr Lambton personally called me back and refunded me for the salmon because he valued his customer relationships. Our family decided to send our family friend another whole side of smoked salmon for the New Year, and this time the delivery went smoothly. Order arrived a day late! Although the 'cheapest' pack on offer it consisted of small chunks of salmon rather than the expected trimmings of sliced salmon. Net result: only half used; half wasted. AB

First time buy and will be back. Delicious and VERY smoky. A smoked salmon not for the faint-hearted. I bought the Maldon Cure Smoked Salmon 400g hand sliced to make individual Smoked Salmon Terrines as a starter for Christmas dinner. It went down a treat. Personally, I'm not a fan on smoked salmon, but this has convinced me otherwise.
