We used the tongue oil product on the walnut butcher block top of our kitchen Island. We also applied it to a high-top Ipe wood table that sits on our screened porch. Protection of both surfaces is great. Water beads well.

We used the pure tung oil on our red oak floors for the whole house. They turned out great and look beautiful! We had 2 coats of oil put down and then let them rest for 30 days before we moved in. Some workers continued to work on our house renovation during this time but walked around in their socked feet without issue. We love the matte look of the floors and the feel of them on our bare feet. We also love how easy they are to maintain! Dust doesn’t show up like it does on traditionally finished floors. Scratches, dings and scuffs aren’t very visible but if something does bother us we found they disappear after a quick rub with a little tung oil on a rag. We also used the pure tung oil on our butcher block countertops. They also turned out great! We applied 3 coats and found that we had to wait the full 30 days before the oil had completely soaked in. About every 3 months, we are rubbing a light layer of tung oil around the sink inset and edge of the sink to ensure there will be no water damage. Thus far we found water just beads on the surface and each evening we make sure all water is wiped off. I am so pleased with how it is working out practically speaking. We plan to put one coat of tung oil on the butcher block countertops each year for maintenance. It takes about 10 minutes to apply to the countertops. So easy. They look absolutely beautiful! I wish you could see the pictures! The Real Milk Paint Company was great about me returning the leftover gallons of tung oil. They also were so helpful in giving advice about application but it was really easy, just nerve-wracking when you’re doing a whole house and have never seen it done anywhere. If we ever move, we will be doing the exact same thing in our next house because we love it so!
