For the ordinary person, the planning process is a maze. Planning Voice acts as a guide through the twists and turns of that maze. When I first realised that I would need to submit a planning objection, I was surprised how hard it was to find professional help. I contacted several of the local planning consultancies, and was turned away by all of them. The explanation given was that they had promoted schemes in my area, and so had a conflict of interest. A lot of the time, however, it felt to me like they were instinctively on the side of the developers (who provide most of their work), and unenthusiastic about the hassle of dealing with lay customers. When the planning application arrived on my doormat. I was totally at a loss as to what to do.
