Everyone I spoke with at ELFI was beyond nice, helpful, timely in response time, patient, and understanding. The employees took their time explaining my options, and wanted to make sure I understood what was going on or about to happen. I did have questions as I continued my process, and the response time and information provided (to answer my questions) was very detailed and extremely helpful. What a pleasurable experience, when doing something not so pleasurable.

Working with ELFI was amazing. The website was clear and easy to use, I submitted my application, within an hour had an email from my loan advisor Stan Mitchell, and within three business days closed on my loan and cut my monthly payment in half. Stan was super helpful and responded quickly to any questions I had along the way. I've worked with a few online lending companies and my experience with ELFI puts all others to shame.

Easy application process, clear communication from loan specialists. After uploading necessary documents and my employer providing my employment verification (via my employer's HR communicating directly with ELFI loan specialist) it was pretty quick to get a decision. Straight forward process.

It was a time-involved loan process for a small loan amount. However, keep in mind that this is not a bad thing, necessarily. When rating a borrower's experience to other experiences on the tried and true 5-star scale, the process of getting a loan is never going to be a 5 star experience for me - it is not like having a great meal with great service or sailing to Bora Bora. Still, for what it was, it was satisfactory. Although I understand the need for information to verify income and employment, records are readily available showing excellent credit history of existing loan payments and rate increases, which align with the reasons I gave to refinance at a lower rate. Because I am busy with two jobs and have minimal evening time with family already, I weighed whether to continue on with this application process when more was continually asked of me. At the end, I was satisfied.

There was internal issues pulling credit. What should’ve been a 1-2 week process turned into almost a month process. ELFI makes it very difficult to refinance student loans. The interest rates are great, but the process is poor
