Avoid for Tiffin Girls school preparation
We enrolled in AE Tuition (Feltham) for both Years 4 and 5. I intended to write this review two months ago when my daughter attended an external mock exam and scored just under 50%. It was a shock to us since the mock exam was specifically tailored for Tiffin Girls' School which was our num 1 target. However, I hesitated to post a negative review because, as a parent, I felt I should have paid more attention over the last two years. After reading Dave's review (below), I must admit that every point he makes is spot on—especially points 2, 3, 5, and 6. I'll keep this brief to avoid repeating what Dave has already said: 1. Avoid AE if your target is Tiffin Girls' School, as there is hardly any preparation for English creative writing and advanced Maths. 2. We also attended the 'Advanced Maths' session during the summer, and I was shocked to find that an entire day was wasted learning how to use a calculator! Yes—an entire day learning to use a calculator, even though calculators aren't allowed during the exam. Additionally, during the advanced maths course, the first hour was spent reviewing Q&A from the exams, which meant that children who did well in the test had nothing to do for the first hour. Personally, I believe the 'Advanced' course is just a waste of money and time. 3. I then purchased Examberry papers, and my daughter, who used to score 80% in AE exams, struggled to even reach 40%. 4. Quantity over quality! AE assigns loads of homework every week, but 80% of the material in Maths and VR/NVR is just repetitive. In hindsight, I should have noticed this earlier. 5. AE should have encouraged students to take exams under timed conditions, but throughout the two years, my daughter took exams without any time pressure. As a result, she struggled during external mock exams. On a side note—We also booked the 'Advanced English' summer course, for which I paid a £200 deposit. Later on, I had to switch from classroom to online, and they kept me waiting until a week before the course started. Each time I emailed them, I received a standard reply that my daughter was on the waiting list. Finally, just a week before the course, I had to withdraw from the waiting list and lost the £200 deposit. This was my fault, of course, but AE showed no consideration for the anxiety and fear of parents, keeping us waiting until the last minute. Overall, I’m giving 2 stars because I believe, as a parent, I should have recognized AE's educational pattern sooner. Unfortunately, for us, it was too late. Raju
Avoid - If you want top schools.
Result Update: My DS got qualified for almost all the schools including super selectives. Note that getting qualified and getting a place in school are very different things. He is in the top 1% in slough and scored very highly in Bucks exam. AE has a part in these results. We got into Wilson’s school but that’s not due to AE. Most of the prep was due to the last 3/4 months of marathon work we did at home on maths + external creative writing course we took in year 5. Review: We did AE(Langley branch) for both year4 and year5. My first kid is doing the 11+ prep for 2025 entry - writing exam in Sept 2024. I went through trustpilot reviews and asking many people - we are based around Slough. Everyone misdirected me about this place. Their whole point was that it's too much work. Since my DS is bright, we were coping just fine and hence continued to year 5. I always felt that the teaching is not great. As DS could read and understand their material(which is quite good and can be bought with a fraction of the tuition cost), I felt the only advantage is the cohort and their rating/analysis of his performance. I completely trusted their process and followed their assignments etc. He scored very well in year4 mock and his teacher advised we should try for top schools as he is well in the top 10% kids in AE. Then comes May 2024 - when we started taking external mocks. The kid who scored >90% consistently is struggling to score even 50-60% in the external mocks. The standard elsewhere is wayy higher than AE. they haven't even taught half the concepts and we are less than 4 months away from exams. But all other non-AE kids are absolutely hitting it out of the park. Thats when the panic sets in and I started to explore other books/materials/mocks and realised that its indeed true. Standards especially for top schools who mostly do only English and Maths is untouchable for an only AE material kid. Pros: Its probably okay if you are aiming on getting the qualification score in Bucks and Slough. Cons: 1) They should be forthright that their material and training is only for Slough/Bucks/Kent exams. NOT for any other top schools. Don't trust the other reviews here. Either they have the rare gifted child or they are paid by AE. 2) There was no training to kids to do the test in a set amount of time. All AE kids will struggle to finish the test on time. Ofcourse unless trained by their parents separately - in secret most of the time. 3) AE's Maths and English standard is pretty basic if you are trying for super selective schools. They are atleast 3 times harder. 4) They try to do everything and don't do anything well enough. My bright kid wasted all his time doing the 1000's of NVR/VR questions which is not at all needed even for slough. Coz he has the natural ability of do them well. I expected his teachers to recognise it and atleast tell me to teach kid more English and Maths. 5) AE will end their classes by mid July and gives some GL packs which can be bought online. Summer is when kids up the game completely. All other tuitions run mocks and classes all though summer. Now I have take sabbatical from work and scramble to up my DS’s performance. He has improved a LOT after I ignored AE vr/nvr nonsense and focussed on better Maths, English and his overall timing. But we may be too late. They wanna introduce Algebra on 25th of August and exams are mid September. They are a joke! 6) Other tuitions do 10's of mocks for their kids and AE does 1(yes I am serious. Just 1) and ask more money for more mocks and ask u to enrol for summer course for 'advanced' courses. I have lost trust on them completely at this point. 7) Its a NVR/VR factory. Every kid is a pound sign. They don't really know the strengths or weakness of a kid which is common in other smaller tuition places. 8) They dont have the concept of revision. Everything is upon parents to do at the end. Reply to the response from AE. * I haven't received any information request for the new review. The previous one is expired. * These are all standard template advertisement answers. Whatever I have written is 100% true.

We are writing this letter to express our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for the wonderful experience our son had during his time at AE Tuition. As we approach the completion of the current academic year, we felt compelled to convey our sincere thanks to you and the entire team for providing such a nurturing and enriching environment for our child. We would like to highlight the exceptional contribution of Miss Robyn Lynch, who has been an outstanding teacher and mentor for our son. From the very beginning, we were impressed by her dedication, enthusiasm, and innovative teaching methods. In fact, we specifically requested that our son be placed in her class after watching her engaging and insightful online videos when our son was in Year 4. Her teaching style immediately resonated with us, and we were confident that she would be the perfect fit for our son’s educational journey. Unbelievable quality
Unbelievable quality, compared even with private/grammar schools. They really teach. Some find it too intensive, so this is for competitive high achievers only. Having done 11+ with AE Tuition, we are now rejoining them for the year 9 course.

Don’t recommend this tution as it’s a waste of money and time and your child will be nervous also after joining ae tutions. I have tried to so many times to you but no response. Very disappointing
AE-A very structured Coaching Centre
Our Elder son passed 11+ with flying colours few years back under the guidance of Ms Anita Basra in one of the Slough centres. Our Younger son went to AE Feltham centre in year 4(2021/22) and in Year 5(2022/23). It was a very affirmative decision that it must be AE for him too, but we were apprehensive with regards to the change of tutor and centre. Luckily our younger son thrived well at the Feltham centre which is quite local to us. He has passed all the super selective grammar and independent schools he has been aiming for. Very proud parents! AE provides excellent study material, that covers all topics. The course is structured with weekly homework. The tutors at AE are of the highest calibre. Mr. Bhatti's teaching, years of experience has helped our son to achieve his full potential. Dedicated teaching assisstants follow up kids homework, help with corrections, provide personalised detailed feedbacks. Admin team- specially Charlotte is always a phone call away during office hours for any type of query you have. The list goes on and on. Heartfelt Thanks to the team, for guiding us, supporting us throughout the 11+journey.
AE is very good and would recommend
AE was an exceptional learning experience for my son. I would highly recommend this for anyone aiming for a good school in the 11+. My son got into the one of the best grammar school in the UK -Wilson’s School - and his teacher was Fiona Glynn and she is a very good teacher Overall AE is a very good tuition and would suggest this to most people e ta along a grammar school test.
Best tuition ever
AE - just amazing, all the teachers are great, syllabus, the hard work they are doing for students, every single penny worth it. never denied to help, doesn't matter how many times your child needs help, they do one to one guidance if your child finds some topics hard. My daughter was in Jacqui Turner's class, what an amazing teacher! Jacqui is great influence and I believe she is one of those life time best rare teacher whom you have in your life if you are lucky and we are with Jacqui. The education is great at AE, syllabus, material, books, exams, tests unbelievable hard work they do. Sometimes as parent you feel tired with the hard work they do. So I strongly recommend AE tuition. We had great experience of education at AE both the years.
Proud Parents - Thank you AE Tution’s
We started with AE online tuitions in year 5. Yes our target schools were all super selective. We heard mixed reviews but still believed that we are taking right decision to go ahead with AE. We are very delighted that we took this correct decision which has changed our life. Our daughter is being offered a place in one of the top raked grammer school in UK. AE has a lot of homework, but at the end it’s all worth it. We just need to trust this process. Keep working hard each day and stay focused. We strongly believe, It’s not just Tutions who can do wonders. But it’s the joint effort of parents and Child too. AE provides with top class educational material, Test packs and everything we needed to prepare her for. I am very pleased, the time and effort Dr. Stephen Curran has put to develop material and his expertise on preparing children for most competitive exam of 11+. This is really excellent 🙏 Thank you Dr. Stephen Curran. We are forever grateful and thank you for everything AE Tution’s 💖💐
