Bad customer service

I would not use this company again and I would not recommend to anyone. The bed was mis-sold to us, there were parts missing, the bed was not finished, communication is none existent from them, bad customer service, total lack of effort on their behalf to resolve a fairly easy problem, I can't even say the deliver was great because it wasn't. To purchase the bed I called Sleepland Beds. My receipt reports I bought the bed from Sleepland beds NOT Charles of Chester. In response to your reply, the delivery was not into the bedroom, the lone delivery driver after saying he may need a hand, then asked me for a bread knife(?!) to take the protective blanket with him. As for the slats, we only 'expected ' what we were told we would receive.

good, solid bunk bed with plenty of storage.

The bed arrived when it stated it would and once assembled the bed is string, sturdy and very pleasing on the eye. It has so much storage room as well in the stair cupboards and under the small double. My children love sleeping in it. Another positive was the choice of whether to have the stairs on the left or right. Would definitely purchase this bed again.

Mis-sold product, appalling practice, unreliable time frames and the company is in dire need of staff training! Please read full review before making a purchase.

Purchased 1 x Mikana Double Metal Bed Frame (£668.00 low foot mesh base) on 22/03/23 through companys website. The lead time stated on the product page was 28 days. There was no mention of leeway on the bed page or in the terms and conditions. It was simply 28 days lead time from purchase to delivery. ABSOLUTE LIES! I wish I cancelled my order then as it would have saved me the time and hassle that it cost using this company. In total, there were over 50 exchanged emails between myself and this company. No contact was made until over a month after the purchase date, which I had to initiate. I am told that the bed is due to arrive into SleeplandBeds warehouse the week commencing 15/05/23 - again, this is when the bed is due to be in their possession, not mine. Expecting the bed at a much later date than anticipated, I was not available to receive the bed until the date commencing 02/06/23. The company informed me multiple times that they do not make deliveries in my area on weekends, but only deliver to London and the surrounding areas. The first delivery date offered was a Sunday... Clearly the company can't follow their own policies, despite feeling the need to inform me multiple times of what they can and can't do. This date wasn't suitable for me, and the next available date also didn't work due to work commitments. I was asked if the bed could be left in a secure area, which I do not have. This goes against any protection the customer has, having a delivery left outside with no signature or confirmation of the state it has been left. This is not good practice and isn't safe for either the customer or business, especially with the condition of the bed I received from you. The next available date was 11/07/23. I asked if I would receive a call from the delivery team prior to them coming, but was told "our driver will not call beforehand as he is single manned". This was very odd as the bed being delivered is extremely heavy. The email regarding the delivery stated "To allocate our customers 1 hour time slots we allow a 15-minute delivery window at each house, so any extra help is very much appreciated." The website and company claim they offer a 'free take to room of choice' service with purchases, but I wasn't offered this. The one man delivery driver carried all packages (3 in total) over his shoulder and passed it through my front door. THERE IS A CLEAR HEALTH AND SAFETY BREACH WITHIN THIS COMPANY! Each package stated "2 MAN", but I received it like this. There is no care for staff safety, and all that was mentioned was they would speak to the driver rather than admitting fault. 2 of the 3 boxes arrived damaged, with one big tear being covered by tape. If SleeplandBeds received the parcels like this, they should have been returned and inspected rather than me receiving 2 boxes with damaged parts inside. An exchange for the damaged parts was set up, and I was informed of the manufacturing company they have used - Reinforced Beds. I found they were selling the exact same bed that I had purchased, under the name 'Belle Bed' rather than SleeplandBeds name 'Mikana' with a £49 price difference! The packaging the bed arrived in still had Reinforced Beds shipping label on it, stating 1x Belle Bed, 2 MAN delivery, and the delivery logo for the company Panther - Reinforced Beds delivery team. There was no information regarding "Mikana" Bed or anything to do with SleeplandBeds. This product, and service was misold to me! SleeplandBeds admitted that they weren't aware of Reinforced Beds selling directly to the public, DESPITE them having a contract. Garry, a team member of SleepLandBeds emailed to say "I have checked their website and see that they are selling the bed for £619 for a curbside delivery, for it to be delivered to room of choice it would be an extra £30. As we delivered to room of choice, we are more than happy to refund you the £19 price difference and supply the replacement parts, if you wish". Again, I was not offered delivery to a room of choice, nor was there any evidence of me supplying them with this. I wanted my order cancelled, I could not deal with a company full of deceit and who clearly have no customer service skills between the team. In total I had communications between 5 different members of this company! I chose SleeplandBeds for this order because of the positive reviews. Well, how wrong could I have been. The company have now changed the lead time of the bed to 7-9 weeks, as well as changing the brand name of the bed to Double MIKANA BELLE Wrought iron bed frame, I guess to stop anyone else from questioning their apalling practice when they also receive a label stating a different bed name to the one advertised. Avoid this company, find the product you need elsewhere and save your money and time. I wish for no further contact. OWNER TAKING NO RESPONSIBILITY

Great company

The staff at Sleepland beds were excellent in helping us choose our bed set-up for our grand children. The bed was delivered on time and the team carried all the boxes up to the bedroom as requested. The product was relatively easy to build with really good instructions. It is really sturdy and our grand kids love it!!

High quality product

High quality product. Very sturdy. Delivery was done on time and the driver helped to take it to my backyard as requested. As advised you need two people to assemble bunk bed. It was quite a task to do it all by myself.
