I used Challenor Gardiner solicetors for conveyancing

I used Challenor & Gardiner solicitors for the sale conveyancing of my late brother's home. The solicitor Gary Kwek was sympathetic and professional from start to finish, he kept me fully informed throughout the sale and gave support and helpful advice when needed. I would definitely recommend Challenor & Gardiner.

Challenor Gardiner have been our family solicitor for over 30 years and have helped us with a wide range of legal issues from wills and power of attorney through to more complex matters with skill, efficiency and warmth. Nick Bingham and his team are a delight to use. We thoroughly recommend them.

The best solicitors we've used

We've used Challenor Gardiner twice over the last few years and found them to be the best solicitors we have ever had dealings with. The first time was over a trade dispute and the second a contractual dealing with an IT firm. In both cases they were they courteous, smart and quick to respond, explaining every step carefully and in lay English. We were surprised at how fast they achieved resolution in both, quite complex cases. Both times they were friendly, easy and stress-free experiences. Compared to other solicitors we have used in the past, we have nothing but high praise for their industrious team.

Poor conveyancing experience: delays, non transparent, stress

A poor conveyancing experience in 2017-2018. Title Deed change (equity transfer) caused a lot of stress and efforts from my side in order to complete on time. This followed with over half a year of chasing for the completion paperwork and a refund of an incorrectly charged amount for mortgage and disbursements. Received no compensation for losses and/or stress. - a junior and overloaded worker assigned to a case, which came via an agent for a fixed fee job - very slow and unresponsive via all channels, with a small improvement via complaint procedures - made mistakes and ignored complaints to compensate for them - with all that, I'm glad and to an extent grateful for completing the case correctly and returning client money in the end

So far they have been nothing but a…

So far they have been nothing but a nightmare for us. We asked them to do the conveyancing on a property we were buying and also the sale of our current property, so fast forward 4 months we are assuming that our property is ready to sell as well have had absolutely no correspondence from Curtis Rogers at all and our new solicitor is also having trouble getting in contact with him! . Why a new solicitor you may ask well after 7 weeks of again not getting any correspondence at all we eventually got hold of him to be told everything was fine one day to the next day saying oh we can't buy the property as there was a covenant on the property which we actually found out ourselves with one phone call to the local council which took 20 minutes! So here we are now our new solicitor has told us we can complete on another property in 2 weeks and guess what, still no news from Curtis no paperwork to sign ( oh actually i forgot he has sent a couple of emails telling us that our buyers are eager to complete ) so it seems he has been having more contact with our buyers than us the customers who are actually PAYING him to do the job! All in all of you are reading this and thinking of using them DON'T find a better firm because our new solicitor is moving heaven and earth for us and we just wish we had found her before.

Incredible slow and unresponsive.

Incredible slow and unresponsive. It seems that offering a fixed fee service through an agent means that they are not interested in the works at all. Avoid them!
