Nice products, but poor customer care in handling corporate incentives

In two separate orders, I purchased a table and four chairs from Barker and Stonehouse, via the MyRewards/Edenred platform that my employer makes available to all in the firm. In doing so, I'd earn 5% cashback for making a purchase. The table arrived within 14 days, and I had to wait 1 month+ for the chairs. The products themselves are nice and the delivery teams were pleasant enough. However, I later found out that Barker and Stonehouse refused to honour one of my cashback offers. According to their system, it didn't technically appear to have been made via the MyRewards platform, despite the fact they agreed the other order had been and had paid cashback on it. When I appealed this and provided evidence of my second purchase (on the same day as the first) they refused to change their mind. The amount of cashback itself is immaterial, in the region of c.£24, but when a customer spends over c.£850 on goods, you'd hope the company would demonstrate a fairness and reasonableness for what appears to be a technical glitch. Consequently, it leaves a sour aftertaste in the customer journey and makes you question whether you'd purchase from them again. Why pump up your revenue if you can't give me what I signed up to in good faith? Two stars - shame.

Just received our new sofa from Barker and Stonehouse, it all went very smoothly and a lot quicker than we were expecting. It was delivered by Alan and Michael who couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, thank you.

Kentwell Grand Sofa

We were very happy with the service and help with choosing our new sofa from Barker and Stonehouse. David in Leeds was on hand with to deal with all our questions, and was very helpful. That was just after Christmas, and our sofa arrived today, 6th February, so a lot sooner than we expected. The two delivery guys Simon and Wojciech soon had our new sofa unpacked and all packaging removed. Very pleased with our choice, and the service provided.
