Poorly maintained catamarans lead to quite a few issues on our recent trip from Dubrovnik to Split. Our cabin smelt of crap fro the first 3 days, which was mentioned to the crew on arrival, nothing was done until the point the toilet back flushed its contents and we were left looking like we had blocked the loo, it was clear when the skipper was hammering out the poo tube at the back of the boat with a broomstick that the problem had been ignored and that now we suffered with no toilet for the rest of the trip. A huge inconvenience when you are paying so much for your own private toilet, not even a call or email to apologise for the mess. The next was the A/C which was apparently not working but after a few fiddles to most cabins it was ice cold, one cabin required a few floor boards to come up and some and referring to instruction manuals, but our skipper got that working too. Then there was the fridges, steamy hot and not an esky in site that would hold beer cold, the ice box was more of a hot box, and the one fridge we had for drinks wouldn't even hold a case, let alone any food or other drink. We normally would have had more space in another fridge inside but that was being used by another boat who's fridge was broken.Which also meant we had to go wherever they wanted to go. The meals on board were great, much better than expected and the Skipper was a very good driver, felt safe at all times, plus he became very handy at fixing things. Don't bother spending the last night on the boat it's not in Split, it's at a marina about 30 mins from Split. Water was beautiful, food and drink was much more expensive than my last trip there, and so many more tourists, go out of peak season to enjoy. YG probably need to look at their contract with Dream Yachts or whoever they were getting the boats from, they stunk..literally. They could also brush up on their customer service skills to save rants like this.

Just returned from a weeks sailing in Croatia. We had a fantastic time our skipper and host were so attentive and cooked delicious meals. The rooms were all ensuite and the communal areas of the boat were spacious. I'd defiantly do another trip with YG.

Don't believe the glossy marketing! poor quality boats but amazing crew. This appears to be common theme amongst a lot of the reviews. We just returned from a trip sailing around the Greek Cyclades. After having read a number of reviews concerning the quality of boats, I emailed and spoke a number of times to Yacht Getaways to ask about the type and quality of boat. These conversations were taking place a matter of days before the trip was due to start and I was told (although with no guarantees) that we would have a Lagoon 400 with ensuite bathrooms. This was very important to me as I had been suffering with a stomach condition and can suffer with motion sickness so unfettered access to a bathroom is a must! The first disappointing thing about the trip was that we lost the first day of sailing bc of a seasonal common bad weather condition called Meltemi winds. We had to stay in Athens an extra night and take a commercial ferry to Naxos; this would have been known to Yacht getaways at least a week before we were due to start our trip, so more notice about the potential missed days of sailing would have been appreciated. Next disappointing thing was that the boat was not a Lagoon 400 and did not have ensuite bathrooms. It was a badly maintained catamaran around 10 years old with smelly bathrooms, small kitchenette, cranky small cabin fan and generally shabby. Again, yacht getaways would have known this at the time I last enquired about the boat. The saving grace was that there was only one other couple on the boat, so we only had to share with the crew. If we had to share with another 4 people, that would have been horrendous. I felt the general level of hygiene was somewhat lacking, such as pillows smelling of sweat and the smell of sewage being overpowering at times (we had to pump our toilet waste)! We then lost another day of sailing at the end of the trip which meant we had 2 nights in Paros instead of one. We also missed out on sailing to Ios and Mykonos because of the weather. On the plus side the crew (Jessika and Jaoa) were fantastic and tried to make the most of the situation. Overall, a disappointing sailing experience.

Unfortunately the Quality of boats let you down. We did 2 separate legs in 3 weeks with Yachting Getaways. Croatia and Cyclades Greece one week later. We had a Superior catamaran in Croatia (CZen) and Premium catamaran (Calebasse FF) in Greece. Both vessels were 8-10 years old. The standard of boat really let them down in both cases which was unfortunate since we thought our crew overall were amazing. We elected to leave the boat early as well, we simply had enough of the cramped conditions, smell and degree of maintenance required on both vessels. If you don’t set your expectations too high and happy to ‘camp on water’ it would be fine, however with the premium price we found it to be substandard and would not consider another tour with Yachting Getaways unless the quality of the boat could be guaranteed.

We had a great time thanks to Emma & Matt our crew who did such a great job of looking after us and taking us to all the best places around the Ionian. We had such a great holiday which will we will always fondly remember. Would highly recommend Yacht Getaways for this type of holiday and we also had a superior cat which was definitely worth the extra cost.

This was honestly one of the best holidays I have ever been on. I love to travel and often do all the organising and planning myself, but I did not have to lift a finger here and everything was perfect. Our captain, Alviero, and stunning host, Charlotte, were so charming and talented and great fun to be with - they also produced the most wonderful food! I will always remember A’s fantastic garlic bread. This was definitely the best way to see Croatia and its islands. Really good value and wonderful itinerary. Part of me really did want to keep Yacht Getaways to myself as their trips already sell out so fast (!) but they are a great company and this holiday was too good not to share - my husband and I have booked sailing in Sicily this summer!

A mixed review. Pros: The boat was beautiful. The stops we made were great and I don't think we could have asked for a better itinerary. The other guests we were paired with were a good match. Cons: The crew (host and skipper) made things quite uncomfortable. As guests we felt like our presence was a complete annoyance. In fact, it was a relief the evenings our crew didn't join us for dinner. In those times, the rest of the boat was able to relax and enjoy ourselves. We were so anxious to get off the boat, that we spent extra money to stay in a hotel the night we got into the port. I struggled with whether or not to write with this review because I don't think that our experience is indicative of Yacht Getaways service as a whole. But.. as I reflect on our trip, the worst part of it was our interactions with the crew. It caused a lot of friction and I think our group would have had a much more relaxing and enjoyable time exploring the beauty of Croatia on our own. We still had a great time and made the most of our time away from the boat. Unfortunately we left feeling disappointed since our experience didn't come close to what we expected after reading all the great reviews prior to our trip. I feel like a 6 night tour would still give your guests a great experience and give your crew a chance to have time off between trips. Perhaps that would keep them in better spirits.

We had a very nice and unforgettable sailing trip, enjoying the Greece Cyclade Islands and had the luck to see dolphins accompaning our sailing boat. Food was lovely prepared by Charlotte & and our great Captain Alvaro! We felt well within the international guest Group and had a veery Relaxing week. We will do it for sure again.
