This is simply a scam
This is simply a scam . This so called auction site falsely advertises item . Not true to word. There are thousands of items advertised as for instance Bluetooth speaker , this said Bluetooth speaker is advertised as that (no admittance of parts missing or not working) yet in many other hundreds of items advertised they do admit damages, missing items, faulty, etc etc so you know that for a given fact . But this auction site is knowingly selling items that are faulty, not fit for purpose and miss sold , by misleading advertising. They are literally scamming people. Recommendation is to completely stay away.
Incorrectly listed Items, they were scrap
Went onto site and searched for LCD TV, was returned thumb nails and main description, boxes looked like ex-display units, not pictures of actual TV's, tunred out these were scrap... no stands, no remotes, when I took one out of the box the back was hanging off and bits missing, they did the you could come and view, but they are Nationwide and travelling for a £140 lots is un realistic. If they listed them correctly and had pictures of them I would not have touched them with a barge pole... however they lost a customer rather than put it right - BE AWARE they do not list they items correctly.
¿Curioso no?
We need more localised grass roots competition
Having spent approx. £9000 over the last 2 years, ( and from which I have made only little profit through selling - straight up) I am reluctant to buy from JP nowadays due to the sly increments in all the charges, and separated items that would previously have been job lots. I dont blame anyone for trying to make a few quid, but it's easy to see whats going on with Jogn Pye. They're completely dominating the market, and we know where that leads. Sorry, did I mention how nowadays we seem to get more and more sucked in, and then feel duped. The JP business heads know what they're doing and couldn't care less. Greedy, and getting greedier.
Complete scam
Complete scam, don't buy electrical items as no guarantee they will work. Received a toothbrush broken and damaged on the picture bottom of it has been covered and no mention on the item description of any faults. Disgraceful attitude and they deliberately hiding proper info from the customer. Avoid by any cost!!!!
If you want to lose your money then buy with John Pye
I cannot stress enough for you to not waste your money using John Pye Auctions. I previously left a review which related to four items I had bought in auctions with John Pye which were delivered by DPD. Three out of the four items were damaged. Over the last few weeks I have followed their internal complaints process. Although it doesn't really seem like a formal process but one they make up as they go along. Out of the three damaged items initially after the staff in the warehouse reviewed the complaint they said they would provide a refund for only one out of the three items. This was a microwave which had been put in a box on its side so the glass door was completely smashed in. I queried with John Pye why if they were clearly acknowledging that the microwave had been damaged in transit and were willing to provide a refund that they weren't then accepting responsibility for the other two damaged items which were damaged in transit. I was advised to follow their complaints process which involves sending a formal letter to their head office. It then took two weeks to receive a response via email. The response had lots of copy and paste sections from their terms and conditions. Advising that the auction was "Returns, secondhand and ex display items" advising that not all items they sell are fit for purpose! They then repeatedly fob you off by preaching about how you have the opportunity to view the items before they are sent to you by courier. They completely miss the point that if the items are then damaged somewhere between John Pye warehouse staff badly packaging the items and the items being transported to DPD that viewing the items prior to the auction would make no difference only to confirm whether any of the items have any damage beforehand which John Pye conveniently doesn't bother to tell you in the individual listings. After being preached to for a page and a half with copy/paste sections of terms and conditions. They then advised that as a "gesture of good will" they were prepared to provide a refund for one of the two remaining damaged items. Again this makes no sense that if the items are damaged in transit that they provide a refund for one of the two remaining items. The letter goes onto say that this potential refund as a gesture of good will would only be on the condition that I keep the existence and terms of the proposed settlement confidential... This company clearly receive a lot of returns from Amazon. Alot of which are returned because they are damaged. They then list them in auction with a picture of the box that the item is in as opposed to the actual item itself. They then put a very basic description covering what the item is but fail to mention whether there is any damage that they clearly know about or not. This is wrong on so many levels as they are knowingly selling damaged goods but failing to tell you. Equally if you receive items which are damaged in transit because of lack of proper packaging. John Pye will clearly not accept full responsibility for the goods being damaged enroute. Their customer service is none existent and their complaint process seems to be made up as they go along. If you want to lose your money then buy with John Pye.

Broken keyboard not as in photo
Received my Corsair K60 RGB PRO Keyboard this afternoon from the Nottingham site, I couldn't make the viewing or auction on the day so I took my time looking at their photo's of the item. All of the keys in place and comes with its original box, so I bid and won. It arrived today, opened the box to find 3 keys broken, so I emailed them to only be told its in our T and C's so no returns and no refunds, sold as seen. But that is the problem. This morning 6/6/24, got another email to ask for photos of keyboard and the damage, they have now offered a £15 part refund and I keep the item to repair. That is better customer service, finally.
