Not received

Ordered 2nd October still not received over £60 worth of items. The info page doesn't seem to work as no replies to many queries sent. I have set up a dispute with PayPal hopefully it will get resolved that way

Will I ever receive my order?????

I am a first time customer and this is my experience - condensed version after 25 days still not received my order. 5th September Order placed 19th September Got in touch with the team, as nothing had been received. Got a response back saying it had just been dispatched. Received an Evri tracking. 25th September Got back in touch again, as still not received anything. Also the tracking on Evri was still showing as they were waiting to collect from them. 26th September Was told they had dispatched today and that I would get my order tomorrow 28th September Still not received, got back in touch with them 29th September Still not received or heard back. Therefore I've written this review. Not happy at all

Ordered over 3 weeks ago

Ordered over 3 weeks ago. Politely asked what was happening and have been ignored. Paid straight away and for next day delivery when ready but still nothing. Product needs to be unmissable now. Crap customer service non the less.

Game changer....

I originally wrote a one star review for this company. After making a few of Al's kitchen thirty minute Currys I was keen to try the accompanying spice mixes to reduce prep times. After a week my spices hadn't arrived and I jumped the gun based on previous reviews thinking that my spices weren't going to arrive. After a great conversation with the owner, who explained that overwhelming unexpected demand (due to the popularity of Al's curries)had caused a massive uptake in orders, my spices mixes arrived, with some extras!! I had previously made the chicken korahi using my own spices, but this time used the spice mix from spicy Joe's. The first version was great, but the version using the mix took it to another level, and massively cut down on prep time. I am now living on curry!! So far this week I have had curry every night. I have IBS but love spicy food. If I want a takeaway curry I have to make sure that I have the next day off, but these curries are so fresh that I can eat curry every night without any related tummy troubles the next day. If you have previously had an issue ordering from these guys please give them a chance. They are a small company doing there best to meet unprecedented demand and I jumped to the wrong conclusion based on previous bad reviews. Al's thirty minute curries are a game changer for me and long may he continue to provide us with quick easy to make delicious curries!!

Updated: Avoid! They take your money but you get no items.

I’ve ordered from Spicy Joes twice now and there won’t be a third time. First time I ordered, paid for next day delivery, and nothing was delivered. Emailed them, got excuses about being overwhelmed with orders (why accept more orders then?!) and was promised more would be sent. Waited over a week before it was finally delivered. Sadly I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and ordered gifts for Father’s Day. Yet again, nothing materialised. I emailed them asking where my order was, got no reply. Then I emailed asking if I could have a refund as I still had received nothing, and still I got no reply. Ended up having to open up a case with PayPal to receive my refund, which thankfully was processed this morning. I’m not sure what’s going on at Spicy Joes, as other reviewers and myself have ordered and nothing turns up-are they even sending items out? It’s odd if SO many orders are going missing. Anyway, I’d avoid them, and I won’t be ordering from them again. **UPDATE** - After receiving my refund from PayPal, Spicy Joes took it upon themselves to send out the items I had ordered. I was able to check the dates as logged with the courier, and can confirm that the items were posted AFTER the refund. To add to the insult, I was given a voucher for money off future purchases from Spicy Joes. After a time, I received an email from Nigel at Spicy Joes which was, for the want of better words threatening and frankly unhinged. I was accused of stealing items from them, threatened with court proceedings and told that “my details had been lifted from social media and would be shared with their hundreds of followers” I was told to either pay for the goods, or I could keep them if I removed the “nasty” (but accurate!) review I had written. The goods were sent after the refund had been issued, and were therefore unsolicited items. It was not my responsibility to return the goods to Spicy Joes, and quite frankly after the diatribe I received from Nigel I wasn’t prepared to invest any time or effort in this. Instead I ended up telling Nigel that if he wanted to arrange a courier to collect the items from my address, that would be fine with me. I have now reported Spicy Joes to the Information Commissioners Office, as these threats were serious in nature and need to be investigated; Nigel really does need to be more mature in how he deals with legitimate customer concerns, instead of writing hysterical communications by email. I’ve read the other reviews on Trustpilot for this company, and see that a few include a reply from Nigel accusing the reviewer of lies, and include personal attacks. Should I receive such a reply from Nigel, I’d like to state that I have kept all communications from Spicy Joes, and can provide them if need be. I wouldn’t go near Spicy Joes with a barge pole, and if I were Al from Al’s Kitchen I’d be distancing myself as far as possible from this train wreck of a company, as very soon his brand will be tarnished if he keeps promoting Spicy Joes. The low ratings and reviews speak for themselves. It really isn’t worth it to a. Not receive the items you’ve paid for b. Have to go to the hassle of getting a refund and c. Having to read an email from Nigel Richards full of accusations and threats. Save yourself a headache. There are better and more reputable spice merchants out there
