Poor 35mm slides scans
I had over 200 35mm slides to digitize at the highest possible resolution/quality. I sent 25 to ScanCafe as a test before committing to the entire batch. The scans that came back were of low quality, with color and sharpness off. I double checked the slides when they were returned and the color was good and sharpness spot on. I would not use ScanCafe again for high quality results. Before I sent the slides I contacted ScanCafe a couple of times with some questions, and they were prompt and friendly in their responses.

What can you say about a business that loses valuable family memories, and their customer service barely lifts a finger to help track - or provide transparent information about what's going on or what happened. ScanCafe has been a real nightmare from the start of the process to get digital images of irreplaceable family shots - including their lack of effort on tracking down slides lost while under their control. Customer service was obviously understaffed (pandemic-related?), and didn't really care that thousands of pictures could go missing under their watch. I spent weeks putting together the package of media to send in, and used their shipping service. I couldn't get information from the shipper on what happened because it was ScanCafe's paperwork /"ownership" that was used. And the company dragged their feet for so long on informing me with what was going on, the chances of recouping these items became impossible. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be an enjoyable and rewarding experience is going to turn into legal mess that I didn't need during a pandemic. They never returned my money that was paid for services never rendered. They also kept the money they settled with UPS - or never provided information on what happened with any of these funds. UPDATED IN RESPONSE: Company never returned funds I paid for services not delivered or any communicated after I sent certified letter over a year ago regarding these matters - including authorization to get information from UPS on what happened to package or 'settlement'. Again, don't send anything of value to this business.

Great Digital Images From Both Slides and Photos!
I previously used Scan Cafe to digitize some old slides. They did a great job, so I more recently used them to digitize some old photographs if varying sizes. They really did a remarkable job in getting each photo to fit perfectly in the digital space, so they are great to view on a digital photo frame. As they did with the slides, they greatly enhanced each image and adjusted both the light and the color to maximize the quality of each image as much as possible. Highly recommended!
