Shocking experience
I purchased a used Alfa Romeo Stelvio from Wilsons of Epsom in August 2023. During my first 6 months of ownership, the car has been in the garage already 3 separate times for a recurring electrical fault which they have not yet been able to fix, despite having the car for 41 working days and counting. The car is still at the service centre waiting for a part that was promised to us over a week ago, without any guarantee the part will actually resolve the fault that first appeared 6 weeks into ownership. During this period it has been almost impossible to make any regular contact with Sales and After Sales at Wilsons. I asked to reject the car (via email and recorded delivery post) since the car was clearly faulty when it was sold to me. Wilsons made no effort to contact me for 2 weeks. After several more chasing phone calls I was told that Wilsons had no record of my rejection letter. Eventually Gary Lambert, Wilsons After Sales representative, has declined my request to reject the car, disregarding my rights as a consumer with the excuse that the part required to fix the car was available and due into Wilsons on the 26th of February 2024. A week has passed and there has been no contact at all, I still do not know if the part has arrived and if or when my car will be fixed. To clarify, this is the third opportunity Wilsons have been given to repair the issue. Wilsons continuously and demonstratively ignore any attempt at good customer service. My car is being kept hostage by Wilsons incompetence at identifying and fixing the original fault, as well as unacceptable levels of customer service. I hope this review will help other customers to understand what it means to deal with Wilsons, should you find yourself in a similar, unlucky situation.
