OneFineStay took our money as a deposit…
OneFineStay took our money as a deposit on a home in St John. The island, and home, were wrecked by IRMA resulting in us not being able to go there. They REFUSED to refund our deposit despite the island being destroyed. They have over $3,000 of our money and will not return it despite the house still not being available to rent. We've rented homes through Home Away and VRBO in, and outside, the US. We have a lot of travel experiences with rentals and have NEVER ran into anyone as unscrupulous as this company. STAY AWAY. *****UPDATE******** After several more emails & phone calls there was an agreement to refund our money in full.

Not any more
I have stayed with OnefineStay too many times to count. I travel frequently for business on long stays and it is so much nicer to have an apartment than a hotel room. However, I think this is the last time. This place is so tiny it is about as small as a hotel room. So many of the cupboards are locked for owners use that there is barely any place to put my clothes unless you want any guests to see your underwear on the bookshelf. There is no place to even put my suitcase without tripping over it. I rang and asked for some more coat hangers and an umbrella only to be told that it is not their policy to provide an umbrella. This is London. She said I can tell you some nearby shops to buy an umbrella. When I stay in a hotel, they will provide me with an umbrella, and this is supposed to be a home away from home where there always would be an umbrella. I think it is unreasonable for me to pack an umbrella and bring it all the way from Australia. I googled onefinestay reviews and realised it had been taken over by Accor a couple of years ago. And then I found the site where staff can rate the company. You can clearly see that the staff hate working there now. And you can tell. This is not a fine stay anymore.

We are frequent travelers often staying…
We are frequent travelers often staying for longer periods in a place – and wanted to explore alternatives to hotels (giving us a bit more space and flexibility). We have used Airbnb with mixed results and decided to try onefinestay as they market themselves as the ”unhotel” – providing hotel quality accommodation (and charging a premium for it) in pre-vetted and managed properties. We booked an apartment in Rome for a week and, after less than an hour – we checked ourselves out and into a hotel! The apartment was newly renovated inside but the common areas were dark, dodgy and dilapidated! Paint peeling, old stairs – and there was no lift, requiring us to drag our bags up four flights of stairs – we were told that as part of their concierge service there would be someone there to meet and help us – but the young girl they sent clearly could not haul our luggage up four flights of stairs! The apartment whilst new was not clean – you could see the floors were dirty – and the much touted rooftop terrace was filthy. A discarded broom was left there – there was bird droppings all over the seats and dead plants and leaves everywhere. The area was unusable and not at all as represented in the photos. I had emailed in advance to check if there was a clothes washer as we had been on the road for over a month and I wanted to do some washing. There was – but it wasn’t working (as we found out on check in)! We spoke to a onefinestay customer rep who was not very helpful – we made it clear that we thought they had misrepresented the apartment. We said we were going to check out – either that very evening or as soon as we could find alternative accommodation. They still wanted us to leave a Euro 1000 security deposit which we refused and after some wrangling, they waived the requirement. We immediately researched and booked a hotel – we couldn’t get out of there fast enough. The onefinestay website it beautiful – but the company service and the property did not live up to the hype. In our case, the photos of the property were a misrepresentation. The service that onefinestay claims to offer – by pre-vetting properties and making them luxury ready – is a hoax. Wish we had read other reviews before using onefinestay – we have asked for a refund, but expect that as with many others, our request will be ignored. They are a scam with no interest about customer satisfaction and do not deserve to survive.

Total scam!
Imagine you spend days choosing a property for your holidays, book it months in advance, have the entire family dream about the annual gathering, and then everything is cancelled by the property owner at the last moment!!! A nightmare? No, just another cancelled booking for OneFineStay! Do they care? Of course not! They see it as an opportunity to sell you an inferior property at a much inflated price as they know you have already booked your flights and your are completely stuck! Do not risk having your holidays ruined. AVOID THIS SCAM!!!

The opposite of a fine or luxury…
The opposite of a fine or luxury experience. After renting a condo in San Sebastian through the company, we arrived at a tacky, musty smelling place with wood rot, chipped paint, a kitchen window who's views were the neighbors clothes hanging 10 feet away and open electrical wires, beds with no bedside tables or in one case a old bar cart used as one, a very dirty lobby entrance and I could go on and on. The upshot was after repeated lip service of "of course we will make this right for you" , they offered 10%, for basically suppling a place that one avoided being in as much as possible . My only hope is that my friends or anyone else who desires luxury stays, stays away from this pitiful company.

Stay away!
Currently staying in OFS apartment in NYC. Have reported intolerable noise from adjacent apartment to OFS, but to no avail. Both day and night and causing seriously disturbed sleep. Have no alternative but to leave for a more restful location. OFS’s supposed ‘unprecedented levels of care’ boil down to advising me ‘we are unable to offer a refund’. How the hell does that work? They advertise an apartment as having ‘some traffic noise inside the sitting room and kitchen’. In fact there’s actually very little traffic noise anywhere in the apartment but, instead, a whole load of neighbour noise in the bedroom. They fail to deliver but I get no refund for the unused nights I can no longer bear to stay in their oversold apartment. What a joke. How should I deal with this? Go legal?

Terrible service,
Terrible service, They create their own map to rent apartments in the wrong location. They will not give your money back when you realize that the location is wrong. They lied. Do not use their service HomeAway and Airbnb is safer.

My onefinestay experience...
onefinestay, not really “fine” at all. As a luxury vacation rental company, yes the homes were luxurious but I can’t say the same about the service. The following is what we experienced in our stay in New York City in the Park Avenue Mansion: - It was clear that it was the first time the welcome staff from onefinestay saw the house. They even mentioned it. - We were told the cleaners will come twice during our 10 day stay, they only came once to clean the 5 floor house. In addition, the house was not cleaned properly prior to our arrival, there was an airtight container with moulding croissants and bagels (not an amazing sight), as well as two cans of sunkist, and two nut bar wrappers on one of the rooms bedside table. - as we were a group of 10, the complimentary granola bag and coffee was inadequate. Even the fridge was empty. As a luxury brand, the fridge should’ve been filled with the essentials. - The fact that the mansion had no elevator and that we had to carry our suitcases to each floor was unacceptable, someone should've been there to at least help us out. - each bathroom could've had extra towels, extra toilet paper, cotton pads, cotton buds. - We were provided with an iPhone but we had a hard time being able to hear what was being said from the other end, it was an old iPhone. - It was inconvenient for us to leave the house early for a potential buyer to come see the house and they ended up not coming because we received the message late. - There were no safe boxes, we had our passports and money that we couldn’t keep in a safe place. - Garbage bags, cleaning products (tide pods for the dishwasher) cleaning tools such as mops and brooms etc. There weren’t enough products and since we had no cleaning services on a daily basis, they could've provided us with the tools. - The entertainment system “Roku” didn't work all the time, had to call someone to come and fix the TV in the kitchen, although all the TV’s weren’t working. - The wifi was a major problem! There were days where it worked perfectly and other days where it didn't work at all! The excuse of the weather isn’t acceptable because that snowstorm lasted a day, not the 10 days we were there. With all these complaints I think we had the right to ask for some sort of compensation, to make up for the bad experience we had, they refused. I didnt ask for a refund, I didnt ask to get all my money back after we stayed there for 10 days. I simply asked for them to make it up to me, if they did that, I wouldnt be writing this review now, and I would give onefinestay another chance.
