Zero gravity provides important opportunities to young students headed to university who may struggle to find ways in which can ease their struggles through opportunities such as scholarships.

It opened many opportunities for me, such as scholarships and placements for the summer. Furthermore my mentor has been really helpful when it came to everything, whether it was helping me decide what university to pick, to dissect course details and interview preparation.

I'm an 18 year old prospective student to study Forensic Psychology, as it is my ambition to become a Criminal Profiler. My Zero Gravity mentor has been amazing in helping me with this, booking calls to discuss my personal statement and ways to improve this, which led to a reduced offer from my first choice university. Zero Gravity has also helped in the resources aspect, allowing me to learn how to properly structure my personal statement and the goals feature has helped me know what to talk to my mentor about in our sessions. I'm also more informed of how I apply for a student finance, as well as the Masterclasses helping me with specific ideas that will help my application and in future study aspects, such as learning more about jobs within the Legal sector, which my career aspirations fits into.

I have always struggled to find opportunities and to receive support in developing my academic career further from my schools and college due to the low-income area in which I live. My mentor has been incredible in allowing me to receive offers from top universities and allowed me to increase the depth of the knowledge that I have for the subject that I have such an interest in. My mentor has also helped me in developing skills such as critical thinking, presentation skills and has improved my confidence in my abilities. The community on zero gravity has been so beneficial in connecting with likeminded students who have similar interests and have a similar background to you- I have felt so welcomed in the community and love sharing the resources and experiences that I have found so beneficial to me and also learning how others have achieved their goals. Without the support of zero gravity I would not have felt that I would have been confident enough to apply to top universities and make my goal of becoming a psychologist more of a reality.

I relocated to the UK in 2021 to pursue my dream of becoming a lawyer. Through dedicated efforts, I obtained GCSEs in Maths and English to strengthen my university application. Believing in the transformative power of education, I advocate for accessible learning opportunities and support welfare courses that drive community progress. Discovering Zero Gravity on LinkedIn was a pivotal moment in my journey. The invaluable support, from writing a compelling personal statement to engaging in enriching masterclasses and community resources, guided me through an unfamiliar path. My mentor, Maya B, played a crucial role in my success by providing insightful guidance on personal statement structuring and university selection. Maya's encouragement and advice empowered me to choose institutions not requiring the LNAT, enhancing my application strategy. With Zero Gravity's support, my university application journey was transformed, setting me on a path towards realizing my ambitions as a future barrister.

I am an ambitious individual who thoroughly enjoys interacting with people to produce an insightful outcome collectively. I consistently strive to challenge myself, to be able to succeed in new endeavours and continuously improve. One of the numerous opportunities I took advantage of to better myself was Zero Gravity. Prior to enrolling with Zero Gravity, I had no idea what my next steps would be. I was amazed at how much my mentor helped me grasp a deeper understanding of my interest. We evaluated the options that were presented to me and determined what was best. Using the zero gravity platform, I enhanced my portfolio for universities, as it included high-profile events, advice and insights from graduates and others working in related fields that interested me. My mentor supported me with crafting the ideal personal statement and obtaining work experience through minds underground and MOOC, which further enhanced my candidature.

My Zero Gravity mentor helped me to gain the confidence to go into my interview/entrance exam feeling as though I was able to enjoy the experience. My confidence improved hugely, not only due to the skills and knowledge I gained from the programme but due to the encouragement and ongoing support from my mentor; I couldn’t fault her or the program. The webinars giving information/application advice made me feel far less alone for a very daunting experience, and gave me a sense of connection to a future that before felt unreachable. My complete love of learning in a creative manner and literature has been something I’ve felt constantly growing throughout my life and education; Zero Gravity immediately felt made for people like me.

Coming from a single parent family within a low demographic area, my mentor Kieran opened my eyes to social mobility programmes to apply for and ultimately attend. He helped me to believe that even though I come from an unprivileged background I could still achieve my dream of receiving a place at a Russell Group University. Through the many sessions, support and the personal statement advice that I have received from Kieran I am now the proud recipient of a place at The University of Warwick to study a degree that I never thought possible. Without Kieran and Zero Gravity I am aware that I would not be in the position that I am now and I will be forever grateful for this opportunity. I thank Kieran for all the time that he has spent with me and I hope that he is proud of what we have achieved together

When I started my A-Levels, I had a deep passion for politics but thought I had nothing valuable to offer the field. Winning the 2023 Gresham College Oracy Competition (on Climate Change and the Environment) made me realize my voice mattered, and I wanted to dedicate my life to solving global issues. I decided to "Go big or go home" and aimed for HSPS at Cambridge. Around this time, I signed up for Zero Gravity and was paired with my amazing mentor, who boosted my confidence throughout the extensive and sometimes overwhelming admissions process. As a black girl from a lower-class background, I faced additional concerns that Zia helped me navigate. Practically, she assisted in perfecting my personal statement, honing my essay-writing skills for the admissions assessment, and preparing for my interview. The other resources on the Zero Gravity website, particularly the webinars and community discussions, were also invaluable. It’s thanks only to Zero Gravity I was able to secure a Cambridge offer! 😇
