I must commend broke on her candor, extremely professional yet empathetic in her listening skills. I will recommend Brooke to my friends as the experience was professional and human at the same time. So well done. Not often I'm impressed.

I found the process slightly…

I found the process slightly frustrating due to the step by step process it seemed to follow. Being this only being the 2nd car I had financed (the first being many years ago) I had no real idea of what to expect. Now instead of supplying me with all the info I regards to what documents I would need to move forward and the process that would be undertaken. I was given instructions one step at a time so the whole process took longer than I felt it should have. I would have much preferred a detailed outline of everything that I would need to provide (and why) and a clear outline of the process written in plain language I could easily understand. The documents I was getting asked for were very simple to get and could have been sent in 1 email. It felt like playing a video game and having to pass each level before moving on to the next. As I was purchasing a used car privately It felt very nerve wracking to have to complete the entire loan application and sales and purchase agreement, before I was given any details at all about the loan I was about to enter. All I wanted to know what was the following What is the interest rate Loan term Weekly payment amounts Full loan repayment amount Smaller details could wait To me these feel like simple questions any handy finance calculator could work out for me but I was wanting to have something directly to go off. I basically had to go test drive the car and agree to buy it before I was given anything concrete. Maybe this is just the way it works in the finance world but that part felt unwelcoming, like the finance company wanted to take me down the road as far as possible, to make it harder to do a uturn if I wanted to. Now there were circumstances that may have had a particular impact on my case that others may not have gone through I have previously had a part time job which accounted for part of my income, which I included on the application. Once this employment finished it affected my income which meant a new loan had to be approved. I could have made this clear from the start but the questionnaire in the initial application didn’t allow for me to comment anything. Given that the car I was purchasing was in Christchurch and I love and work full time in Kaikoura. The only option for me was to head to Christchurch on a Saturday and have a look at the vehicle and test drive it to make sure, I was told (or thought I was told) that we would be able to complete the sale on Saturday and that someone would be in the office to facilitate, this was not the case and it took some work to try and find a line a communication with the office. All that being said a lot of it was my own fault for not communicating clearly and not asking the right questions and seeking clarity when I needed it. Maybe I am just a bit naive when it comes to these things. However the people I dealt with were awesome, very kind and helpful, I think we just didn’t communicate to each other that well.
