Thank you HPI you saved me from a very big hole in my bank account ,I was going to buy a motorcycle but only got the reg 15 hrs before I was to collect it in person so I used your checking system and it showed it had been a write off and mileage had discrepancy so never bought the motorcycle.
Wrong check results
I wanted to list a vehicle on Gumtree which relies on the HPI Check API for assessement. HPI indicated to GumTree that the vehicle is either: Stolen, Exported, Scrapped or Category A/B insurance. None of the above cases applies/is true, but this makes it impossible to post the vehicle on GumTree. I have been calling HPI customer support and they want to me to pay for their check in order to see what is wrong. I think this is very unprofessional.

Nearly perfect! Some details about the vehicle are not correct. One example was the car was coming up as 5 speed manual when in fact it is a 6 speed manual. This makes me wonder what other information is incorrect about my vehicle.
Report details wrong and different to dvla.
Report was purchased and provided quickly on line. Report stated 1 previous owner ,but after purchasing the car and on receipt of logbook from dvla ,found that there had been 2 prior to myself. HPI stated it was a failure on DVLAs part ,DVLA stating it's HPI s fault and they should make sure that the info they are providing is correct. No refund or compensation offered by hpi . Very disappointed and cannot recommend this provider.

The report they provided was wrong -for…
The report they provided was wrong -for both being written off/crashed and for Outstanding Finance. They have refused to offer any compensation despite now admitting their errors. I have lost a great deal of money because of their HPI report. Avoid them - an expensive waste of money and they have no interest in compensating people for THEIR mistakes. I wrote to their Customer Services who admitted they provided incorrect info on the vehicle and offered me no compensation. I thought this was unacceptable and what about their guarantee? So I wrote to their CEO about this and after much chasing received a letter after they had "investigated". HPI admitted they gave the wrong info about being written off AND outstanding finance and then offered absolutely NO compensation for my loss. My experience is they give out the wrong information about the vehicle and when you are then out of pocket - they do not want to know, help or compensate you. They asked me to contact them after my review and weeks have passed after I emailed them and no response - so further reasons to avoid them.
