Herewith my story - do read it:- I am in receipt of your letter with attached appeal refusal (WarmWorks). This WarmWorks funding experience has been the most incredibly awful experience of my life and I’m 83. It has taken 6 ½ months for WarmWorks to refuse the funding of my replacement ground source heat pump! I was told I was eligible for the funding on 18th March 2024, by telephone and would have to have a WarmWorks assessor visit the house to assess it. Despite chasing, it took over 3 months for the assessor to visit on 28th June 2024. After a 3 hours, extraordinary invasive visit with every corner and window being photographed, inside and out, I asked if I was eligible and was categorically told yes, my house was measured as 220m2 and the limit was 230m2. The assessor photographed all the eligibility documents. It took to 26th July 2024 to receive an e-mail from WarmWorks confirming receipt of the eligibility documents required and the next stage was to issue an offer letter. On 20th August 2024, I received a letter from Warmer Homes Scotland saying my application had been cancelled due to it being over 230m2. The new Energy Performance Certificate attachment showing the house to be 241m2, replacing the previous one that stated 223m2 ? I therefore appealed immediately and sent in the council’s assessor’s report for the house to your complaints department with proof as 224m2. Both your own assessor’s and the council’s assessors measurements were ignored stating the measurements had to include the no walk space in my attic space? It finally took to 30th September 2024, over 6 ½ months later to learn my original application for funding was not accepted? I have now had to arrange for this work to be carried out by a private installer at a cost of £10,000. I am completely disgusted at this totally incompetent funding system and the delays that are completely unacceptable. A very unhappy pensioner…
