Poor packaging and courier choice.
This would have been 5 stars but the packaging was poor and one of the rails was damaged. Unfortunately I didn't notice until the installation was underway. Following my initial review I have been contacted by P C Henderson and after a few emails i received a replacement part that was packed impeccably, this has lead me to change my rating to 5 stars for outstanding service. Thank you very much for your help and understanding, be assured that I will be recommending you to anyone who needs a pocket door.

P C Henderson to the rescue
Previous owner gave details of PC Henderson's address so I knew where to come. Houses are from the 1980s. Problem with bi-fold doors on fitted wardrobes so ordered the three parts (times 4, just in case). Have told neighbours of who suppliers and parts are in case they have problems with doors coming off the track. Seems to be a problem round here. P C Henderson identified the parts for me and they were sent quickly. Can't fault them at all.
DIY sliding door installation.
Plan A was to get someone to install a sliding door at the top of my stairs, that didn't work out as most of the local tradesmen didn't respond and one that did told me he was leaving town permanently. Plan B then - DIY. The fact that I now have a fully functional sliding door at the top of my stairs fulfilling its task of preventing cold draughts from tumbling down the stairs is a testament to the functionality and the instructions (in picture form) from Henderson. Problems? Self imposed only - my door runs over carpet and I forgot to account for the underlay plus I was "tight" with my vertical measurements (to avoid draughts) so I needed to trim the door slightly (easier than relocating the track). The door hanger is height adjustable btw. I also assumed that my floor was horizontal and my wall vertical (foolish man). My door hangs beautifully plumb and the track is breathtakingly horizontal, shame about the rest of the house. The door needs a bottom guide (supplied) but it requires a router to put a groove in the door base. I didn't have one nor do I know anyone with one, so I used an external wheel arrangement (intended for a barn door system) to stop the door swaying and potentially damaging its track, works well. Can you do this job yourself? Yes. Should you? depends on whether a tradesman will respond and you have the money. It took me 2 or 3 days but I wasn't rushing, I can make mistakes at any speed.
Excellent service supplying replacement parts
An elderly relative recently fell against a sliding door in his home, breaking the rollers. The broken parts were marked Henderson 161. The door was installed about 45 years ago, but P C Henderson identified a current compatible part and dispatched two replacements to me the same day. I could not wish for better service.
