…RIP off Metro Rod

After discovering the problem within an hour, the engineer got the camera stuck. In total it took 3 hours to recover it. I was asked to pay for 4 hours!! I felt this was totally unreasonable. I ended up agreeing to 2 hours but still felt ripped off! Subsequently I had 2 other companies put a camera down my drain, neither got their camera stuck. I received a ridiculous quote for the work, it was a joke!!! I got the work done by another company for less than half of that price.

Blocked waste pipe

Had a blocked drain for about a month. Tried all sorts of liquids and bought various items to clear it without success. Tried to use my home emergency cover but as it was over 24hrs and we have another bathroom we weren't covered. They recommended metro rod. I rang then, arrived promptly but I was worried they'd charge a fortune. I was wrong. The bloke who came was friendly and he sorted it in an hour. Charged one hours labour (about £114 Inc vat). It was limescale that had collapsed after years of build up that had blocked it. I should have got them out in the first place, would have saved me time and money. Would definitely recommend the bath/radstock depot.

Fantastic experience

Fantastic experience. Had been experiencing slow drainage and clogging for a week or two, called Metro Rod, engineer Martin was out in the morning, got straight to work and had the issue fixed within maybe 15-20 minutes. Couldn't have been easier.

Blocked pipe

My bathroom flooded today from a blocked pipe. I had tried a different company who let me down, however the Glasgow Metro rod team were brilliant and despite being so busy, were able to come to my rescue. Andrew was so lovely and helpful on the phone and the engineer Paul who came out was absolutely fantastic. All sorted in 30 minutes and saved my house from flooding. A truly 5 star experience and I would highly recommend.

A shocking customer service experience

A shocking customer service experience on an emergency insurance leaking water call out. Plumber arrived, took pictures, went back to the road to call in for authority and left without saying anything. Called the depot to find out what happened and they couldn't have cared less. 0/10 for service so I can only imagine how poor the job would have been if they'd attempted a fix. Stafford depot. Avoid at all costs if you have a choice. Update: Oh the glorious irony. Metrorod responded with a customer care contact email address which I wrote to and is unrecognised, dropping my email back to me undelivered.

Very pleased customer

We have had a drainage problem for some time now whereby the drains smelled after rainfall. Another national drainage company has been out twice and failed to diagnose the problem. Metro Rod arrived within 1 hour of calling, diagnosed the problem, and cleared the blockage within about 30 minutes. Excellent service Metro Rod, Glasgow!!!

Awful Service

Sat: Noticed the connection between my soil pipe and drain had fractured and was leaking waste. Metro Rod came out via Lloyds Bank Emergency Home cover. Said he couldn't fix it and left me with no toilet or bathroom facilities. Sun: I contacted a friend who advised that I needed a flexi couple for a salt glaze drain pipe. I informed Lloyds what was required. They told me they would get back to me on Monday. Mon: No call, so I called them back on to chase up the repair. Tue: I contacted another drain repair company who sent someone out. He did the emergency repair in 45 minutes (cost £160 in total). Metro Rod left us with no functioning drainage for 4 days during this pandemic. I would never recommend them and would have given them 0 rating if possible.

Rude and unprofessional

Engineer arrived to fix a shower. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Attempted to coerce monies privately outside of our insurance policy. Very aggressive. Would avoid Metro Rod. The whole experience has left us very shaken

Fast response & got the job done - well recommended

Metro Rod were called out by my insurance company and they arrived within a couple of hours. The engineer S Giles was very pleasant, very knowledgeable and quickly got my drain unblocked with the minimum of fuss. There was no mess and it was all done very quickly. Very good service - thank you. Metro Rod also attended during Covid-19 and their engineer respected social distancing perfectly.
