I had a terrible experience with 1stDibs, and I want others to be aware of how they operate before making a purchase. My wife fell in love with a Le Vian ring that had been sold out before Christmas. After searching online, I found what appeared to be the same ring listed as "New" on 1stDibs. I negotiated a price and purchased it, excited to surprise her. When the ring arrived two days after Christmas, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment. The ring, sold as "New" in a size 7, had clearly been cut and resized to a size 5, making it unwearable. Worse, 1stDibs was closed between Christmas and early January, leaving us in limbo for over a week with no way to resolve the issue. When I finally reached them, they promised to search for a replacement—only to go silent for two more weeks before telling me to just send it back for a refund. Throughout the process, I was dealing with both 1stDibs and someone from Le Vian, which was incredibly confusing. Each party only provided half-answers, and it was never clear who was actually responsible for fixing the situation. After keeping my money for 30 days, I finally received a refund, but not even a simple apology or any effort to make up for their mistake. The lack of accountability and customer care was frustrating, and I will never buy from 1stDibs again. If you’re considering making a purchase, be aware that 1stDibs is just a middleman—they don’t verify what sellers list, and if something goes wrong, you could be stuck in a frustrating back-and-forth with no real support. Save yourself the hassle and shop elsewhere.

I recently purchased a Rolex watch through the 1syDibs platform . On receipt the watch had papers I had a question about . The seller was clearly identified on the DHL label as Swiss Wrist . I contacted that seller to be informed that my watch was not there's and they had transferred their delivery account to another seller who was still using their name . The new seller identified themselves as K2Luxury however I know K2Luxury well and this was not the Geneva firm but somebody else using their name . At this stage I gave up . Vetted sellers 1stDibs , really ?
