Sellers Be Warned. First, there seems a classic bait and switch here. They offer you a free account if you post a certain number of items for sale per year. But then half way or so into your "free" account they change the terms, claiming that they've "eliminated" free accounts and now you will have to pay no less than $99 a month just to list items there, even if they don't sell for years or ever, which many never do. There are items listed there unsold that have been there ever since I've been in the business. On top of this, you will pay nearly 30% of every sale AND its shipping charge. Adding insult to injury, if they make an error and overcharge you, they refuse to give your money back. If you keep insisting, at best they might offer you a "featured listing" credit. So if you're rich and have money to burn, go ahead and be a seller. Otherwise, consider a different platform. Secondly, they will charge you a $100 (!!!) "late" fee if the credit card they have on file does not allow them to charge you the $99 (or higher) a month fee. Third, they actually post a chart on your listings that tells the public how high your price is compared to what *they* think it should be, and this is bizarre considering there are fakes on the site that 1stDibs overvalues, and authentic rare items on the site that 1stDibs undervalues. Bottom line, 1st Dibs undervalues YOU, its sellers. It only cares about how much money it can extract from you. Oh and let's not forget that they take forever to respond to seller messages if they ever do at all, and their chat agents are the rudest I've ever encountered, so don't expect any help there. Furthermore, they vanish after 4pm EST/1pm PST so good luck getting timely help in a time senstive situation. There is no weekend support for sellers and no afternoon or evening support either. RE THE 1ST DIBS RESPONSE HERE: It is untrue. I've attempted countless times to work with them on their inappropriate actions but it's always the same negative or pointless response that doesn't change anything. 1st Dibs: The only acceptable response is that you reverse your abusive practices and policies.
