1stdibs sellers are cheaper on their own site than on 1stdibs

I just saw and inquired about a gold bracelet I found on 1stibs for $18,000. I asked the seller a question, and the seller's name was in the response. I visited the seller's website, where the bracelet costs $4,500 less! Why is 1stdibs overcharging like this?

Cheap is Expensive

Cheap is Expensive and 1stDibs Customare Care service is obviously CHEAP. As many companies have done 1stDibs has outsourced its customare care service. It is so bad that it will become EXPENSIVE, as the online store will loose clients. It is a pity that a luxury online store that has a great selection and professional sellers, can not invest in a proper customary care service. I made an offer on the 1st of December of €700. The amount was withheld on my card but I did not receive a confirmation of the order. I emailed and it took 5 days to receive an answer on how to proceed. Saturday and Sunday no one worked being a weekend. In the meantime I called my credit card provider and nothing could be done on my side, as the transaction had gone through. Today I was told to accept the offer from the seller and I would not be charged twice. I accepted, confirmed the transaction on my card and was charged again. I now at least received the confirmation of the order. 1stDibs now has € 1400 on hold instead of € 700. They have on hold the transaction of the 1st of December and of the 5th. Yesterday I tried to call using the phone number provided. I waited for over 10min, 7min, 5min and I was not passed to Customare Care Service. I selected 3 times the option to be called back and no one did. I was calling from Kenya at my own expense. I would like to be called by a manager and the amount to be refunded on my card. Case number #02625857 If the amount is not refunded I will proceed legally with my credit card provider. You should be ashamed of such a bad service.
