All aspects of the trip were well managed, including with the travel coordinator, Kristin. She worked with us on trip details from about March 2024, to October 2024. She was consistently responsive to our questions and concerns. She was consistently helpful when modifying our itinerary to better match our interests. Our travel guide, Ten Zen was also fantastic! He was always helpful, he was informative about all travel specifics. In addition he was great at communicating about Tibetan culture and practices.

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in Tibet. Die Touren die Kristin organisiert sind total flexibel. Aufgrund einer Krankheit konnten wir erst verspätet an unserer Tour teilnehmen, das war aber gar kein Problem. Kristin war immer erreichbar und hilfsbereit. Wir haben viele Klöster besichtigt und sind bis zum Base Camp gefahren. Anstrengend sind die ewig langen Busfahrten, das muss einem bewusst sein. Aber mit einer tollen Gruppe vergeht die Zeit schnell :-)

The guide can absolutely make or break your trip. Go with Sonam Tenphel, you’re guaranteed the best time of your life 😉 Speaking from both my experience and my group’s observations, Sonam is the best. All Tibet Vista guides are very knowledgeable, but Sonam is off the chart, his energy is unbelievable. He went above and beyond, making sure we had the best experiences, he fought for our best accommodations when rooms at the EBC were limited, and he solved any issues along the way with such an incredibly positive attitude. I have a perfect and unforgettable trip because of him! Tour Consultant: After speaking with a few agencies, I chose Tibet Vista for their top-notch service. They assign each guest a 1-on-1 advisor who’s there for you before, during, and even after the trip. My advisor, Kristin, was a dream to work with—she patiently answered my hundreds of questions and went out of her way to help with all my requests. Itinerary: usually, I travel solo and prefer private tours because I’m a bit particular with planning. But group tours are the only option in Tibet, and I couldn’t be happier with Tibet Vista’s itinerary. It’s perfectly curated—nothing missing, nothing extra. Group Size and Vibe: I had such a great time with my group—just the right size for getting to know each other without feeling crowded. The group vibe added so much to the experience! Hotels and Restaurants: you have options here. Just tell them what you want, and they’ll make it happen! A small upgrade can make a big difference 😉 Plus, water and oxygen supplies are readily available throughout the tour. Transportation: Be prepared to spend a lot of time on the bus, and road conditions aren’t exactly smooth. Avoid sitting in the back if you can, or you’ll be bouncing around like I was (I might need to see a chiropractor now!). While the views out the window aren’t always super scenic, you do get to see endless mountains, traditional Tibetan homes and adorable ranch animals along the way. We had an amazing experience on our 7 day tour from Lhasa to Kathmandu. Every moment of our experience was well planned and managed, from the initial tour enquiries and booking, right through to the trip itself. Special thanks to Holly who was incredible at answering our many pre-trip enquiries and making special arrangements to suit our travel plans as well as Lak Pa, our guide who was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and really made our trip an experience to remember. All accommodation and transport was a good standard throughout and Tibet Vista and our guide took care of all paperwork from our Tibet travel permit to the paperwork for the multiple check points on route, which was great. We were incredibly lucky with the weather and had amazing views of Everest (our main reason for booking the trip). However one point worth noting is that tourists / tours can no longer stay at the official EBC but stay at a secondary newer ‘EBC’ set 8km back which still offers good views and reasonable facilities. This is a rule more recently set by the Everest Park authorities as the official EBC is now restricted to Everest climbers only. Just thought useful info to be aware of before booking.

Considering the logistical preparations needed, the 8 Day Tour Lhasa Shigatse EBC - Shigatse Lhase went smooth. Our tour guide Lhakpa Choedak made it so smooth to all of us including prevention of Altitude Sickness. Also Lhakpa is so passionate and knowledgeable to all the sites and cultures that goes with the tour. Organized and perfect for a terrain so challenging. Definitely will recommend.
