I've been keen to try biochar for a while and Soilfixer offered the best price of the sites I looked at. I also really liked the idea of the compost activator which I started using at the weekend (both in the compost bin and that ready to use. Fingers crossed for some great results next year! The products were very quick to arrive.

I found this advertisement when I searched for what has been called “biochar” . It seems to be nothing more than charcoal, in a quite fine dusty powder. I realised that burning some dry shrubs and sticks, as I used to do, in the vegetable bed, would probably be of equal or more benefit, as the wood ash would also be added to the soil, saving, to me the high price, of this product. As to the benefit to my soil, I will find out in a year or so. Overall, I feel the concept is possibly a good one, but, like many newly made up words, only describes something that has been around for a very long time, probably since fire was first discovered.

easy to order and delivered quickly

At this stage only gave 3 stsrs as order to delivery good experience. As not experienced the effectiveness of the SoilFixer yet ( haven't used it yet) I am unable to give a full, honest and accurate review at this stage.

Product is great quality, company were great on delivery resolving problems with the shipping company.

Texture felt good. Too early to say how effective it will be. Ask next summer!
